But the fries are so GOOD, i think they put actual crack in them.
I didn't interpret any particular way, but I can see how others would. It's pretty simple to do so. When all you have is words, no body language, subtle changes in the voice and the like, what you say can mean much more than you think. Then when people DO interpret differently, they're automatically bashed to some degree about it.
Good for you! Funny that the people who think this thread is pointless still come to this thread just to say that this thread is pointless. If you find the thread or my question pointless, then move along and post on threads that you are have interest in. Won't you be wasting your time posting on a thread you think is pointless?
Now you're getting aggressively defencive, there is no need for that. The reason i clicked on this thread was because a few ppl i know own a mac and there are no "mac specs" on the game box. I was hoping for a little insight to their concerns on compatability.
They do not wish to place win7 or any other ms products on their macs (understandable, or they would have got something with an ms os)
So to retort, I did not think your thread was pointless until I began reading your opening statements. By then, it was too late to turn back. Still, there was no need to get your heckles up like that. With that kind of attitude, you're only feeding fuel to those who have responded negatively to this post.

Uh...actually, in a way it kind of does make him special. The game is developed for Windows and not technically available for Mac in a commercial sense. By asking if anyone else is doing that, he's looking for a small number of other people who run the game the same he does. It would be kind of like asking if anyone else has tried running the game on a PC that was built as a media center, or if they have a multi-monitor setup, or anything else that would be a smaller group. You're drawing a false analogy by saying it would be silly for someone to ask if anyone else is playing on PC, because that information is assumed of everyone automatically, as it's the only platform the game is available on.
That said, all the arguing has definitely turned it into a pointless thread, and if that was the intention all along then yeah, it doesn't really belong.
Except a Mac is a PC. Home PCs, whether they run Windows/OSX/BSD/Linux/Whatever are all PCs. For the last several years they have all been built on the x86 and AMD64 architectures. So a Mac IS a PC. The only real difference in this case, is the OS. So the fact he's running a Windows game under Windows, on a PC does not make him special. Now if he got it working with something under OSX, that might be a different story.
Am I the only one who plays this game on an Android smartphone?
A thread mentioning Macs devolved into a "PC vs Mac" discussion completely unrelated to the topic at hand? Color me surprised!
I'm typing this from one of my iMacs (I'm an audio guy, and I personally prefer to run ProTools on OSX), but I play XIV on my PC. It just doesn't run as well on my Mac.
