not going to happen since they drop in dungeons. and you can't corner the market cause the materials are cheap and easy to come by.

This is what the current system does:

The only difference in materials between these two things is the grade of the clear prism that you use. The difference in priced is entirely caused by the astronomical difference in demand. If they were to take away the grades and leave us the types, this wouldn't be a thing.
I don't know how you suppose someone have so strong an influence on the economy of prisms to make them shoot up to 25k. They are insanely cheap, easy to make, and have a very high demand.

Have fun waiting a few years until someone misclicks on your prisms and somehow buys them then. Do you really not know how ready people are to undercut you? Then for that undercutter to undercut that undercutter, on and on and on until the item is practically worthless. Neither of us can predict how this will go down, but I know that it's fact that someone who rather make 300 gil off a quick sale (per item) than 800 gil.
From my experience, those items are usually uncommon or rare such as that Thavnairian set or crafted Moogle weapons, not items that can be crafted incredibly quickly and cheaply. On the other hand items like Dragon Skins tank in price all the item due to constant undercutting, and from experience I can say that they're usually "tanked" rather than at a high price (reselling them when they're highly priced has netted me at least half a million in gil now...) People make them to make money, if they have the chance to undercut you for a faster sale, they will. Simple as that. I have seen prisms for 6k+, but they never sell as ones for 1-3k are constantly being put up.
I think it's funny they complain about data space but then instead of making one glamour type prism for each craft the made 5. Logic.
