I hope so. I like how the lower levels feel now, but the game is still not in a representative state.

I myself am going to take it really slowly because so much good stuff is still in the pipes which I don't want to miss. Action rehaul, Job system, zone redesign (this is pretty important), server repair, client optimization, UI overhaul. I don't want to be level 50 when all these aspects are implemented.

The problem is that they smashed the new combat system in even though the full set of changes isn't ready yet. They nerfed general combat effectiveness, presumably to make it balanced for when materia is available, but that system won't be available until the next patch. That's just poor planning.

I know many people who would argue those features ruined the game.
Besides, what's the rush to get to endgame? Most of the content is in the mid levels.

We have the materia, but the equipment that uses them isn't actually being implemented until the next patch, correct?

Best thing i can say to you is broaden your horizons, the patch has barley been out. I agree party play has been enjoyable for me as well, and as iv seen in the solo mid levels my SP an hour has dropped since last patch however leveling was too ridiculously easy to begin with, things feel more balanced. Whenever you take the easy road out of a game people tend to over exaggerate, get lazy, and whine, that is all iv really seen here, your post has conveyed no differently.

nothing on this patch have i found to be impossible to do thus far.

I rerolled so I can do just that my Galkan friend :p I see much crafting, gathering, and materia making in our future

The game is revolve around multi class and gear 1 of the OP said, if new player dont know how to buy new gear pass the begin then they are suck, i believe check the NPC store, check the ward (AH) is the first thing you do in a game no ? and not just go out and smash stuff and pray for gear drop

ninja edit: I suggest a beter tutorial, and I prefer it as quest cos most player dont read the wall of text, a quest that give player info about NPC shop in and outside ward

There is currently a lot of gear in the game that can equip Materia.... Just not dated Gear, which is what you should turn to materia and equip to the new non dated versions of all armor that ARE in the game.

Uh no, Vintage, long-ass spawn NM drops (well yea, compared to the 5 mins ones) and new recipe equipments all can be Materia Melded.
