stop copying idea's from ffxi (new jobs)

I'm assuming this will have already been mentioned by now... but the jobs being introduced predate FFXI.

Just like moogles, chocobos and characters named Cid are not "copied from FFXI", neither are the jobs being introduced.

You're both confusing job systems with classes/jobs themselves. Three or four Final Fantasy games have had job systems akin to what they're implementing in FFXIV; they've all had class/jobs/roles/whatever you want to call them.

I have nothing against job systems, I just think the extra layer they're adding with this one is completely unnecessary with the system we already had.

I'm not gonna read every post on here and this has probably been said but... XIV's jobs weren't taken straight from FFXI. There are other games in the series.

I wonder if you've never played a Final Fantasy game in your life. o.o Try one... They're quite fun. :x

So wait if multiple FF titles have whm, blm, pld/knight, drg/dragon knight, war/fighter, and bard, and you put those specifics jobs into an FF mmo, its automatically like XI? For all you know drg doesn't have a wyvern (good chance it doesn't have one actually), and pld has no white magic maybe (since pld having white magic in xi was actually a concept more so stolen from EQ if you read into the history of FF and its development). BLM could be a dark mage and not even use elemental nukes. Like seriously just because they use those job names they are copying XI? They are bringing back that FF feeling in whatever way is sufficient and quick and threads like this hinder that.

Seems we never get tired of feeding the trolls.... oh shoot, I need more popcorn!

Jobs are in every FF game, in FF1 at the start of the game you chose a job for all caracters out of warrior, monk, white mage, black mage and red mage.

Even the ones where they dont mention jobs, they are there, in FF8 quistis is a blue mage and zell is a monk, in ff10, Kimahri is a blue mage/dragoon, rikku is a thief, yuna is a white mage/summoner, lulu is a black mage etc.

If you look into them all you find there is a job system in all ff games whether you notice it or not.

In ffxi paladin having white magic came from ffiv, where once cecil aquired his paladin he could learn white magic spells :)
