So many sad things SE has done with PvP... everyone has already shared the same thoughts I have on this rank removal on the i100 - i110 gear and the huge gate of PvP ranks (don't know about other people, but whenever I leveled up a PvP rank I always was happy to get a new "reward" for leveling up), now new players see 0 - rank 45 as basically a huge grind with no point, possibly gating them out of PvP once they get their glamour.
i180 gear on the new sets only... If it was at i190, then I would at least be somewhat satisfied. Having it be i180 when the new esoterics gear and alexander gear is 200 and 210 just shows how far behind PvP is and how little Square Enix thinks of PvP, and really just drops the incentive to play it as well. With i180 there is really no "reward" in these gears for up-to-date players to rank up, since any player can mix-and-match esoterics and law gear to outweigh the stats given from PvP gear. The only true reward would be glamour, which many have stated isn't as good.
I see PvP having the same effect as Bismarck EX for the majority of players, old and new. Once you got your i100/i110 gear you wanted (i.e your clear for Bismarck), you would never join it again. Even though the fight and music is great (like how PvP is somewhat fun), players never need to touch it again, which could go the same for PvP in this state. No incentives to play it like how there were no incentives to repeat bismarck.
The one thing I am happy about is putting esoterics in the PvP roulette, but with people glamour farming for wolf marks instead of trying hard to rank up, including people who don't care to learn PvP, the quality of players will certainly drop down...
