Yet people seem to love "Talk to NPC, kill 5-10 mobs, come back to NPC, gain 80% of your level in XP as a reward, repeat." systems in MMOs.

If this was tested so extensively in FFXI, then why I wonder must we be put through our paces waiting on it for nigh on twelvemonth? There's treachery afoot here, I can guarantee you that much.

I'm pretty sure that we can sign up for quests for other Companies, we just need to have a sworn allegiance to 1 Company.
Kinda like in FFXI, your allegiance was to 1 city but you could do the quests from any city (just not the City Missions).

I imagine each Grand Company will have Company-specific Mission-quests but the "side-quests" will likely be available to anyone. Even with Toto-Rok, I can sign up in Gridania but do the dungeon with Uldah and Limsa peeps who signed up from their Company/city.

I am also guessing that quests like this will assuage fears about selecting 1 Company for allegiance...if we can do other Companies quests and still earn Seals for that company despite our allegiance to another. I hope it works that way anyway.

Anybody else worried this will get boring after 2-4 times doing it. Same path everytime seems boring. I'm sure it will scale w/ people similar to behest so hopefully it will be a challenge.

@ jenna: do they really love that crap? or are they just doing it because its the best way to level? Ive played a few of those games and i cant tell you how many people just click by the actual story text.
