He not very good at his job as a WoL's protecter all he really does is give you warning of events. That should be obvious shit going down and more people going to die. I still wonder if he really on our side and if he really going to help us.

i think their plan is working like they thought it would --> keeping us guessing on what part he will play in the upcoming events
i personally think n hope hes gonna be a mainstay as our protector for a long time while popping up once in a while giving smart a** comments to keep it humourous :P
I remind you this is the same guy that tried to broil and freeze you with his two little zombie dragons. He's also the guy who removed the blessing of light, allowing the Ascian to enter so he could grab Tsupimati, resulting in an untimely death.
So if not for his meddling, a lot of bad events would never have occurred. Oh, and he wants to raze Ishgard to the ground. I mean sure, they've got history with the dragons and probably deserve at least some comeuppance, but for every guilty there would be hundreds of innocent casualties. Remind me again why Midgardsormr is meant to be a good guy?
...also, wow... it's a sign of good story telling that we're even having this debate. Kudos to the writers.
He think we are weaklings, and Hydelins gift wasted on us. So he sealed Hydelins gift (not taken away) and follow us in his smaller avatar to see what we can do without Hydelins help. We should unseal Hydelins gift with our own power to show him that we are worth for it.
Another interpretation is that Midgardsormr realized that the blessing was causing a stalemate: The Ascians couldn't come near the item they wanted, and as such the Scions had no practical means of testing out their means of actually killing one.
While the dragon's interference caused a death on both sides, the result is knocking both factions out of their comfort zone. The Ascians are less likely to take rash action now that they know they can be out and out killed without direct intervention from Hydaelyn, and the Scions now know something about a certain item AND that their technique actually works, AND they know what the Ascians are after.
That one act may have more far reaching implications than we realize.
Midgardsormr seems like that tough love kind of guy. It also occurs to me that being the King of Wyrms he has taken over guardianship of us for expansion as well due to being a dragon and thereby a new kind of protection for a new enemy. If only in a diplomatic sense. The only trouble being to me is he is doing it the old fashioned way. Like he is forcing us to make hard decisions and make our bodies/souls stronger for coming events. Sure he gives us some backwards notion of what might happen but even then it's like he keeps sitting there, "What have you wrought by your own hands, mortal?"
Don't even get me started on the inevitable shit storm coming when Ishgard opens up and there he is, talking to us. That'll go over real well I'm certain...
Most of the stuff you are discussing is ambiguous because of a bad English script.

Your Blessing of Light isn't gone forever, it's just sealed.
You're being tested to see if you "qualify" for a better power than BoL that Midgardsormr could give.
The Ascian showing up to wreck your day is not something Midgardsormr planned or intended. However your response to his arrival was part of the test.
There's something very wrong with Ishgard, a cutscene in a previous patch should have clued you in on that.
The dragons getting mad and wanting to raze Ishgard to the ground is a response to something being really wrong with Ishgard.
Ishgard is under the influence of the Ascians. They're already blinded by their faith, the Ascians make it worse. What's to stop them from convincing the Holy See the rest of the realm is working with the dravians and causing them to wage a war on the other 3 city states just as the empire is getting ready to invade, and the XIVth is still a force to be reckoned with? The patch is called Before the Fall for a reason, the ramp up to the end of ARR and start of Heavenward is looking grim. Basically, s**t just got real. The days of the 3 city states pretending to join forces, the days of the primals being the only threat are gone. There's a massive storm brewing, and the only people who can weather it are those free of the schemes and manipulations of others and understand the sacrifices that must be made if the ascians are to be stopped.
