On a slightly related note: How much do we know about Garlean naming conventions? With Varis we got a new title. So far the ranks were sas for liuetenants, van for generals, zos for emperors and deus for gods/people with god complexes. Now we learned that before being crowned emperor Varis was named Varis yae Galvus. Yae could be prince, noble or royalty. This still leaves out Nero and Cid. As far as I know Cid was a minister as his father so nan is probably that, but what does tol designate?

Yae = This could be related to the royal family. It could also refer to the High Legatus, as that was the station Varis held prior to ascending to the throne. -
