How do y'all think the new Home Point functionality will interplay with Favored Destinations?

I don't think it'll interfere at all. Favored Destinations are for teleport, home point is for return -- which is now free anyway.

I'm a little confused as to what you mean by this.
You will still need to get to certain areas and will have favoured teleport destinations set to help this; but at least you could set your homepoint at a city and return there for free afterwards, rather than at the last node you came into contact with.

I'm Confused isn't Home point the exact same thing as Going to a Camp and setting your camp/Node there and the "Returning" to it?

problem is you set it automatically as you touch it, and sometimes this is not what you want , you can touch it for , replenishing mp/hp starting leves , teleporting to a subcamp ,

When I say "interplay", I mean "interact with during gameplay".

Will Favored Destinations become obsolete?

Could Favored Destinations + Home Points be abused?

Does this bode well for other up and coming transportation modes like Airships and Chocobos?

Yes, but the way I read it is that if you are doing a leve or dungeon the return point is temporary for that node or entrance; i.e. you can set a proper home point say at Ul'dah or Gridania, and once finished with your leves/dungeon run return for nothing :)

Oh so its more of a " Are you really sure you want to set this at your homepoint?", Instead of running to a Camp/node and accidently hitting it and didn't want to set that as your HP?
