How about a healer that is like a Martyr or Exorcist? They would do spells that would take a % of damage from the tank (or perhaps the mob's "auto-attack"). They could store it up in stacks and release the stacks for effects. Or even "steal" debuffs on party members and use them towards their heals and buffs. It could have Necromancer-like effects I guess, like using their own HP to heal instead of MP. How about they have Re-Raise, and can sacrifice themselves to deal damage to the mob and heals around relative to the number of "stacks of whatever" they have. Job could be Dominatrix and the weapon is a Whip!!! *really wants a whip*
Just a thought~

Mmm I don't know about a healer doing that. There are some pretty debilitating debuffs like paralyze and silence that could be disastrous. I could totally see casting that spell, getting all those debuffs with an unlucky paralyze string ending with a dead tank. I don't see it being very useful. If you follow FFXI's version and make certain debuffs non-transferable then it loses all value in this game as the dangerous ones need cleansing and the other ones are kinda weak.
Sacrifice existed in 1.0. It took a chunk of your HP to place a heal+regen on someone. While I could see that being used by a supporting character similar to SMN and Sustain I don't think a healer making use of this would be too wise. Using HP to heal HP during Titan's stomps comes to mind. Or using your HP to heal someone and then using that debuff transfer on a DoT or two could kill you quick too. We want helers to avoid taking damage afterall.
