Indeed, it was. There is a lot of curiosity on Reddit as to what its reappearance in the game means. I haven't gotten very far in the main scenario at all. Unlocked and completed the 4-man dungeons for Expert Roulette. Started Mail Moogle. Unlocked Front Lines. Unlocked Circus Tower - Some very interesting Lore Dump in the unlock quest for that one.
It's tagged as an event track, but I don't know what kind of event could be going on to use that track again. The end of August marks the one year anniversary of the relaunch of this game, but I don't know if they'd normally put a music track into the patch files that far ahead.
They might... I would very much enjoy any event that allowed us to experience some of the craziness of "the end of days" accompanied by this music.
