Just to verify what people said in this thread-- the patch is officially announced for July 21 (Thursday) for NA, at a time when it's early morning, Friday, July 22 for Japan, and midnight-area for Europe. I am beyond excited for this patch.

Just the fact that they're doing ANYTHING to lively up the countryside is a great thing to me. I hated doing levequests that said stuff like "the farmers in so and so region are having problems settling the land due to monsters."
What farmers!? What settled land!?
With these settlements, my brain will stop hurting(I hope).

Wow they just keep adding neat stuff to 1.18 imagine the game we'll have by 1.20. I'm glad I came back a few days ago. Best time to be an Eorzean again.
I noticed a difference in terminology in regards to beastmen.
Beastmen "settlements" will be in the 1.18 patch.
Beastmen "strongholds" will be in the 1.19 patch.
I wonder what the difference is ...
EDIT: Did the Development Team ever announce what they were planning on doing with the existing hamlets?
