Again, I am not sure if the gil reward was affected by 2.1.
EDIT: you are right, i borked that up. I remember having this same conversation and 450k is about a months worth of crafting at high level crafting.

why wouldnt you use HQ foods? most of them cost about as much as NQ.
I don't actually mind that's its tough to earn Gil tbh. I look at games like world of warcraft, where a level 19 chest piece goes for almost 1000 gold because of the top heavy, horribly inflated economy.
XIV will get there one day, trust me. And I don't say that looking forward to it... Did you know a pn epic drop in vanilla wow could potentially sell for 100 gold in the early days of the auction house? And that even the richest guilds had trouble affording that?
The infamous leve that many folks know of is a perfect example of a gil fountain. To the close-minded individual, it may seem like a pointless activity because of a paltry 600-700 gil for it, but to the informed, it's a ridiculously huge gil fountain towards the economy. You spend ~30sec doing the leve. 600+ gil in 30 sec. You spend 10 leves doing it. 6000+ gil in around 5-10min. Ten of your peers do it at the same time: 60000 gil in 5-10min. One hundred of your fellow server players do it: 600,000 newly created gil to be circulated in the economy, for a playtime of 5-10min. And this is just one small leve. We're not including daily quests, treasure hunting, dungeons, etc. So yeah, there's one example of a significant gil fountain.

Circles are fun.
Whats crazy are the triple turn in leves, I've gotten upwards of 2k for some of them(closer to 3k), and it takes barely any more time to turn in.
There are TOO MANY gil fountains in the game already. OP please troll more.
