Seriously, guys follow female characters around going "omg, ur so hawt, can i have buttsecks wit u?" before they know anything about you, much less if you're male or female IRL (it's funny when they do this sometimes and you tell them you're a guy, and then suddenly you're the one who's gay). It's a surprise to you that they don't want a guy playing a girl character? Geeky lonely teenage hormones are rampant on MMOs.

That said. I'm a guy, I don't care if it's a girl playing a guy, or vice-versa. I've known plenty who do because of above mentioned harassment. It can get pretty extreme sometimes.

some girls do it for harassment or girls do it because it is just natural. Just like guys liking to have something attractive look at or just enjoy how outfits look at them. MOST guys say outfits look better on females only, while I found girls who agree with me and can find that some outfits look better on male characters. The problem is that male have much less outfit compared to females.

Let me encounter your part of "girls don't like guys playing females." in reality, if there could be a real and exact statistics, you will find that most women and/or girls are ok with guys playing female characters. In most situations, women have been taught to play both genders with their doll and see it just fine.

If a girl asked you to change and saw you and went eww, then, unfortunately, you found one of those girls with double standards. Try to meet more people. I met a lot of people from this thread, and I can say there could be potential, but I hate how most don't talk to you anymore after the first day you contacted them, They are always too shy or are always busy doing something else. Well that's life. people just do what they do in their daily routine. I wish you good luck and hopefully you will find a good friends since this thread is just to find a friend not a real relationship. A real relationship is just a hard work to do and consistency...

No one ever said girls don't like guys playing female characters. The conversation was about how guys want a female player playing a female character

I feel like some of the replies have been an attack against my post. So I'll explain myself somewhat, though I shouldn't need to explain my reasons.

I have never played a male character, on any game that has given me the option to be otherwise. I mind because I would like to make a friend who is the opposite gender because I genuinely would like to engage with someone I feel comfortable around in game because I think marrying out of cuteness is useless and I won't do it for that, and I feel safer around the opposite gender. I do not get along with guys. "Uncomfortable with their sexuality." is highly disrespectful and extremely rude to make judgements about someone you don't know. Yes there are people who behave disgustingly on MMOs, and play opposite genders for wrong reasons, but talking so horribly about someone so openly for no reason is pathetic.

This thread is turning into a game of double-dutch. Just waiting on the sidelines to see a good time to jump in.

On topic though, the thread is kind of derailing a little bit and drowning out some applications, so lets be mindful of those still trying.

It's sad though. I, like you, was brought up to accept people for who they are, not really what they are. But I've seen a lot of guys go "ermahgerd, a gurl, i is in luv" just because they found out a player is female. It's really sad.
