I tried to make like the brother to my pale veena. Probably the best I could do with the options we were given in the benchmark. I wasn't trying to make him older or masculine or anything, just the options I thought looked better.

He's a face 3. Face 1 seemed too aggressive, and like face 2, too round. I could have probably played around with face 4 more though, I suppose.

Well, I don't think face 1 necessarily looks threatening. Just mad all the time. I do suppose that fits their lore.

Thanks to the magic of collaboration, I have a probable Viera after someone offered to stream the benchmark and let me pick what I wanted.

It's not as easy to try everything but I had a rough idea of what I wanted anyway.

Alternate hairstyle possibility, with or without the extra fringe bit, partly because so many people are using the long style but also because I like to keep my characters looking different to each other and I'm debating whether the "side braids and ponytail" style puts it too close to my Miqo'te.

I am leaning towards "used to have the long style but hacked it short".

I do still like the long style, but the shorter one feels like it maybe has more character to it? And the hairline isn't so low and it maybe works better with the fluffy bits around the ear bases.

(Edit: yeah, the shorter style is definitely winning the decision right now.)

Either way the plan is to adjust the highlight colour sometimes to suit glamours, which I haven't really done for other characters. But I wanted to make a bright default colour to start with, so the magenta seemed interesting.

Also I should have tried him without the eye tattoos, but that'll have to be something I play around with later.

I had created a few other designs, all with a variety of success, but none I felt really drawn to. Soft boi is probably the closest.
I like faces 1, 3, and 4 for various reasons. 1 I wish had gentler expressions, all the eyebrows are angry.
4 was one I liked initially but felt off the more I looked at it.

After some additional playing around in benchmark that's what I ended up coming with. From here it will be pretty much just tweaking some minor details, if I find something better. Overall - ready for 6.0. :)

All I can sat is Square Enix knew EXACTLY what they were doing when designing male viera, and definitely have created a race I believe will be super popular for years to come (especially if they being to bring access to Modern Aesthetic hairstyles).

Personally I love the male viera body and its proportions, to me it looks like au ra without the waist which I'm personally not a fan of.

can‘t agree more! im happy they did something good this time. they mostly go the safe route with females characters, males mostly have some really weird design choice bodywise. i‘m so happy male viera got spared this time! their proportions are perfect!

Yeah I based my char quite a lot off Fran, overall Im more oriented towards the second because I think it's the 'OG viera look', but who am I tryin to fool lol I may change 50 times a day before Endwalker releases, and may end up making an entirely new boi even then

same same, i really liked that one viera shown first in their reveal trailer(while many were simping for that emet selch hairstyle one)- he gave me major fran vibes. it‘s also the face im going for, the angry/serious bun :D
mine will also probably change alot before EW drops (i think i‘m pretty safe with face 1 tho, it grew on me a lot already)
i‘m just sad face 1 hasn‘t any beard or tattoo options (well they have those leafs, but i‘m uncertain wether i like them or not xD ). sad i can‘t take on the chin stubble from my miqo boy

I'm 100% face 1 team even though if I end up deciding on my alt as a male viera I may go with the third one for him. Tbh, I'm kinda dissapointed about the face 1 lack of stubble and tattoos, specially seeing the cool earring the face 2 has got, wish we could have the miqote style stubble tbh. Hopefully when they finish adding female hrotgar they can begin to look into expanding CC as a whole and adding more features such as that.

As is my wont, I made bun versions of my character. Unsure which I will settle on for an alt, might change the colouring, but I like them so far.

I love the cold look and honest smile of face 3, but the soft looking attributes kill it a bit for me, tried to use the "dirt/hurt" face paint in gray to break the skin perfection, how is it looking?
