holy sh- dude, it's NOT about new players, is that concept so hard to grasp?!
for the millionth time, it's about players with possibly hundreds of hours playing at early ARR level because the game (and coddling community) allows you to do so due to the various nerfs and very easy difficulties the solo duties have
please people, please read more than the first and last page of a thread before you jump into it and decide to "dunk" on whatever side you dislike more, this isn't reddit
just a modicum of effort when it comes to having a discussion, please?
I have read your whole post, and thank you for joining, this thread has become a small train that is derailing. I think you are doing extremely well! You are not what most are referring. There are people who are purposely not using skills because they just #don't feel like it, and take perverse pleasure in griefing sprouts within dungeons preventing them from actually completing a story mode dungeon because the skills do not look pretty enough to them.
Those are some of the posts anyways. I was here because I was overwhelmed by the mountain of information dumped onto me throughout my beginnings, and was hoping there were other things that could be added within the game to learn when I was done with the post ARR grind. Minfilia just took my soul away at the end, and the constant pop ups of endless tutorials between trials and dungeons was way too much for me. I had to disable them, and just read them later.
I honestly thought this was a thread on what systems or changes could be done to help players who are just starting out within the game, and who wish there was something more to teach them besides killing a million opo opos. I am suprised there are still opo opos out there and they have not gone extinct. Those opo opos even have ties with the lady bugs and squirrels, an unspoken bond of friendship that allows for them to instantly know when you begin to aim at an opo opo and all of them aggro to you at the same time. Do not forget the level 17 giant tree that is right there to hand your intestines back to you after you attack the wrong opo opo.
I do not know how things have gone into a spiral of very angry individual who keep assuming everyone is an elitist or some such nonsense.
do you want me to link you to like 40 streams of players in the 70-80 window that are still sprouts doing group content that is required to complete the msq? there are plenty of new players that have been playing for less than a week at that level.
and him saying he wont help someone because he dictated that they have had long enough to learn so instead will yell at them sounds like some crazy person stuff.. like don't have kids i will call CPS..
this meat headed ideal that "everything for the hardcore at the cost of the casual" is just kinda dumb, if you don't have time to play with others then don't play, if your so set in being the main character there are like 14ish other FF games you can go play.
get your head on your shoulders, people don't deserve to be treated like trash because they are not as good as you at a video game, and if you cant deal with them then you are the problem and should leave instead of insisting that they not be allowed.
there has been this simple concept since the conception of team games, its called "Make your own group" if you can't grasp the concept it's simple, Don't queue with randoms if you are not mentally prepared to be a decent human being with strangers.
yes? the majority of the posts are about it, unless we have read a different thread?
yeah, please link them, also ask them how high their /playtime is at that level!
OP is the one getting screamed at for trying to help, he isn't the one screaming at people
no one is talking about this
players trying to HELP are the ones usually being treated like trash and you're basically blaming them for that, wow
yeah, so why exactly should, say, a cure/medica 1 whm in level 80 content use DF again? they're not being a decent human being and should use PF instead if they want to disrespect everyone but their own time
Welcome to the game. I just wanted to say that I don't think this thread is about new players being bad at the game. I haven't read the whole thing, but it now mostly boils down to "I play however I please because normal content is braindead anyway" vs. "You need to play at a decent level and pull your weight." Honestly? I'm part of camp 2 but that's beside the point.
I've avoided commenting after the discussion looked like it was going nowhere, but I decided to write this post because I didn't want a new player to get the wrong idea about how veterans view sprouts. I speak for myself and hopefully many others when I say that most veterans have a soft spot for sprouts and are always willing/happy to help them in any way possible. This discussion is in no way, shape, or form aimed at new players (since those players are still finding their feet in the game anyway).
