Upwell is unlocked via The Wreckage of the Headway. For some reason when reviewing past voyage it doesn't show it but it is in my chatlog.

30 surveillance 110 retrieval on full Shark. I had issues unlocking deep sea 7, then just said screw it and went 20 surveillance 140 retrieval. Unlocked on first ship. -5 surveillance 160 retrieval unlocked the next two zones for me first ship.

I'm convinced that high retrieval aids in unlocking zones, not surveillance.

I think AA is just the numbering system for the zone in French, because it's not there in English, and doesn't seen to have any significance.

The Upwell is the 27th zone.

I found AA & AB zone, i dont know translation in EN , as you can see, AA is Zone des contre courants in FR ;) and AA if first after the Z zone ;)
I found AB zone after mining the AA (Zone des contre courants)

That's the way Excel numbers it's columns, A-Z, then AA-AZ, BA-BZ, etc. If you understand hexadecimal, imagine that with A-Z instead of 0-F. English version doesn't number the zones, it just shows their names.

The last 3 zones according to datamining and google translations are:
-The Rimilala Trench Bottom (Le fond de la tranchée Rimilala)
-Stone Temple (Temple de pierre)
-Sunken Vault (Caveau englouti)
