I do "techy stuff" too and I think your friend may be on to something with the file path. I think that either the PS4 is not informing the server that it is on the correct patch, or that instead of the PS4/server only pulling down and dishing out what it needs to patch, it's pulling down the whole thing each time. The application size of mine is around 60gig, and I have pulled down the 22 gigish file 3 times now, so it looks like it is overwriting the previous download and install each time, which is actually a good thing because otherwise you would have a 200gig file by now.
So.. I've heard the way to fix this after the gargantuan patch downloads is to back things up - but how do you do it? Will just any external hard drive work?
I'm having this issue as well. Is there a fix to this?
Saddly you'll have to download the whole "update" until SE finds a solution for this. We've been waiting for that because lots of people encountered this problem multiple times. It was confirmed that they're working on it though, we just don't know how long it will take.
The solution people are suggesting in this thread is to back up the data in an HDD or use a UPS, since what triggers this is having the power cut out suddenly and having to restore the system after.
thank you. I'm downloading the 22 gb i hope it works! >.<
There is no reason why I should have to buy a external hard drive just to play this game in case the power goes out! This has never happened on any other game I have played. Now if I download the huge 22 gig again if the power flickers I might have to download it again??? No way!!! Until it's fixed I'm letting my sub run out and I might never come back cause I can play more stable games.
Really sucks I put 2 years of my life into a hobby I love for us to be virtually ignored... Not even hey guys I understand there are over 40k views and 600+ replies but we are working on the issue!!
Just had this happen to me. : / I have no idea why a quick power blink would cause this. I hope they find a solution soon.
Had this happen today for the third time...hope they get a fix soon cause my internet isn't so great and there are two people in my household who have to download it each time this happens...
