It seems like a buff to long-term DPS slightly but a huge nerf to our burst.

-100 potency on sidewinder is F**ing massive, but it's still 10% increase to everything else, including DoTs and bloodletter procs and the such. Majority of the moves we're using are not sidewinder though, it's on a pretty long cooldown.

Sooo... let me get this straight? Bard is no longer a support role, it's a forced caster role via Minuet, otherwise suffer a dps snip without it? I see, I see.

Well as a Bard, colour me thoroughly unimpressed.

I understand that, now with the instant cast of Minuet, you can chop and change as need be (aoe, change, move while still dps-ing, for instance) but I don't think I'll EVER go into Minuet. We're back to square one. Thanks SE.

It looks like they addressed exactly what they said they would. The "illusion" or "feeling" that we were doing too little damage. So they took the massive burst potential we had and spread it across the parse so our numbers would go up. So instead of parsers seeing huge spikes and then steep drops, we'll just see something a bit more consistent.

However the removal of cast time on Minuet is nothing but a massive buff to the class, not in the sense of DPS increase but in consistency and viability during high mobility fights. Now I think it can actually be used as intended.

The only real buff that happened was the minuet cast time removal. The changes to EMP and Sidewinder are going to even out with the 10% minuet increase methinks.

I understand this was probably the intention. Maybe seeing BRDs crit for 5.7k was too unsettling for some. :P

Especially when you can pop Barrage on your buffed EA for another 6k~ damage. Still, losing this much Potency, to me (and I don't consider myself good with math or anything), seems like it just cancels out the additional 10% we get from WM.

So they still didnt address the issues that actually matter.... the playstyle is STILL blackmage, we STILL cant weave 2xoGCD, we now have to stance dance on movement (yaaaaaaaay /sarcasm) and on top of that they give us 2 nerfs!?!?!

Its like they dont understand what the problem with the class is.

At this point, now that Sidewinder and EA have been nerfed, couldn't they fix all these playstyle shift complaints by simply allowing you to use everything without WM? Admittedly, if Sidewinder and EA were left as they were, allowing their use outside WM would have probably been a bit OP, but now that they've been reduced while WM has been made more powerful, the balance between either playstyle seems perfect. Yet we're still forced into using WM if we want most of BRD's shiny new toys.

Different strokes, I see this as a new opportunity. Are your oGCDs getting too much to handle? Take WM off, weave them, and throw back WM. With an instant cast stance there are plenty of applications that we can benefit from, and I'm excited for that. That being said, the only thing I wanted from Square was fluidity of our moves and more damage. Fortunately, the latter is hopefully there, and possibly the former.

People who think like you are clearly just too egocentrical to understand...this isn't a problem to everyone, only people who think like you. Minuet's concept is literally the only reason I came back to bard.

You can cry about this all you want, they aren't changing it back. Change classes, suck it up or quit.

Or just keep the stance off and be a crappy bard, lol. Your choice really.
