Translations (JP to English)

Maybe it'll be something like each day they can gather 10 of an item appropriate to the retainer's level, of a type specified by the player (like wood, minerals or fish, nothing too specific). Meanwhile a player actually gathering could do that same work in a matter of minutes, it's just a nice little bonus on the side. Nothing game breaking but better than nothing.

That would make repair NPCs, and NPC selling them pointless; actually the whole process of repairs would be fairly pointless.
I'm fine with them gathering shards, and maybe minimal amounts of materials. If they can gather to much, all materials would loose any worth, and markets would be flooded with any and all materials. Then you wouldn't even need to lv up any DoL; just buy everything for 10gil each, and max DoH quite quickly, with little cost.

Fair enough. Admittedly, I couldn't stand DoL classes in 1.0, so here's hoping 2.0 works out better.

Nothing major today, I normally walk in office 8:30ish PST so I start translations around now if there isn't any work that needs to be worked on ASAP :)

From alpha vids, it looks pretty fast and painless :)
Ya i thought mining was ok, but only cause i figured out strike spots; getting what i wanted at least half of the time...In ARR it seems like 80% chance for same lv- mats.
Fishing was: omg, im not touching that with a 10 foot pole (pun intended)

It's already implemented in Alpha version but in ARR we have delivery service system called "Mog Letter". With Mog Letter you will be able to send items and gils with your message.
You will be able to use the Mog Letter in Beta test as well so please try it out once you get in.
