With the addition of the 'official' lofts it'd be great if we could get all items to use counter placement. Doesn't have to be immediate just a few items converted every patch would be fine by me.
The other change I'd like would be to allow placement of furnishings anywhere in the house. I.e. not having to use a certain storage function to place things close to walls or on the stairs.
I've been experimenting with interior walls and floorings lately, and would really love to have a flooring in the same grey coloring as the masonwork flooring, but one that looks more clean and polished; the current one makes the floor look really dingy and grimy lol I'm wanting to go for a more castle or mansion look for the interior.
i would love to see fancy apartments that come in “medium” or “mansion” sizes. that way EVERYONE can have the size they want. only downside is no outdoors area to decorate or if certain people actually enjoy seeing their neighbours.
I have a suggestion to fix this less than ideal system of buying houses.
Players could apply to buy houses at the land, creating a list of players who are interested.
Then at a scheduled time of the day, have all the players meet in one location and the people that do show up roll for the house.
That way it's fair and doesn't waste people's time of day hoping they get lucky in a crowd of people clicking one time out of the 4-22 hours they had to wait for.
Can we have Vendor/Mender/Melder functions on Retainer so we can use our own Retainers on display inside the house instead of outside?
I just bought and build my first house but I hit some snags already.
Probably this issues have been posted already but here they are:
- Staying in the house at log off, logging on outside of the house is so disappointing ( and no I'm not a sleepwalker :P)
- Allow your alts in the house. I pay standard sub so I can have alts on the same server they should be allow/tenant in without guest function on.
- Allow house rotation / repositioning. I have such a nice view but more than half gets blocked by the said house.
- Allow more garden space, put a inventory penalty or something but give it more. 8 slots are not enough. The amount of seeds available is staggering, it is a shame you are so limited ( at least at cottage level).
How about some outdoor kitchenettes, grills, stoves, and so forth?
Housing is kind of mess still. Yes there are more wards but there are not enough for the number of people on a server. Yes houses are a comodity and what not, you installed timers to prevent people from selling houses for Gil. However, people are just going onto websites like Reddit to create a house selling market. They are charging upwards of like 50 million for a medium just to relocate, not for the plot itself cause there is no chance you will get it because of the timer. People are also selling their FCs that have housing and what not.
A great Idea would be instanced housing in the form of Airships. Small, Medium, and Large airships. They will be a bit more pricy than housing because hey they are airships, but its a goal for a person or an FC to shoot for. We already see something similiar to my Idea in the form of The Prima Vista in the return to Ivalice raid. But also what if they were like Balamb Garden from FF8? There could be a grassy platform like the thousand sunny from one piece where you can set outdoor furniture items and have a nice sky view of a certain ward.
The cool Idea about this is that airships could have like a mobile base kind of feel for some RP FCs. Now the one interesting idea I have about airships would be the ability to go onto the flight deck and move your airship to existing housing areas. Just like how in Kugane there is a airship platform to get on The Prima Vista, you could have such in each of the existing housing areas so...you could technically visit each of the housing areas and say stop by a friends house on the ground for coffee or whatever. The important thing to take away from this is that anyone can aquire an airship if they put forth the effort and they are not limited to what in game plots there are.
Can we get an actual dining table that can fit enough food items for 4 people? The only really large tables are really low to the ground/seem more like stages or something. Would be nice to see something like the glade dining table/round tables, just scaled up slightly to be wider/larger (although not really taller). We have so many food items in the game, some of which very large in terms of surface coverage, and not a whole lot of tables to fit them on, with out Frankensteining a table together with multiple tables to make something big enough to fit a set of meals for more than one person.
@Aries Oh I totally agree! The ones available are long, but not wide; I have mine set for one person on either end, but would love to have it set for four people. Right now I just have a candelabra in the middle, but it still looks crowded for two.
Another thing that would be nice to see: White pillars (like the white walls), that can be dyed. also just more pillars in general.
Half pillars to match the half partitions.
more trees. the same one as the new treehouse but without the "house" part, some coerthan firtrees, snow covered preferably.
indoor and outdoor swimming pools, rock climbing wall, and lofts that can place anything on them.
The mobiles, paper lanterns, and banners used in Kobai Goten during festivals are beautiful! I'd love to have one or two of those from each event. Would be wonderful if paper lanterns were added to the Doman Enclave merchant's item list. The shop appears filled with them after all along with whirl-a-gigs. Also, rugs similar to those in the Dhoro Iloh merchant areas would be great, and I'm surprised we can't buy the Ananta's daybeds. And please make the plush "stuffed" tabletop items capable of resting atop sofas, chairs and beds - isn't that where we usually put stuffed items? Oh, and the ability to recline on sofas would be nice. Just a few requests off the top of my head :)
Several events have decorations I would love to have. We already get a lot of the All Saint's Wake & Hatchingtide items (which I don't actually like that much); I'd love to get some of the Heavensturn, Little Ladies' Day, and Rising decorations as well (especially the blue crystals from the Rising, and the lovely delicate flower decorations from the first two.)
I'd like a version of blank partitions with doors.
It's nice having blank partitions for walls that can have any wall pattern but also match the hard set lower wall sections of each housing ward that you can't change. And it's nice having oasis/riviera/glade doors now. But I'd love to combine the two into a new set of items so I can have doors that don't clash with the wallpapers I use for walls.
bigger apartment options
These have been mentioned before, but i'd like to add my voice to the chorus:
A way to remove pillars and especially the panelling from walls.
A way to remove the standard windows inside a house.
Fairly lights!
Make most things tabletop so they can be placed on lofts and troupe stages.
Being able to turn the house on the plot would be amazing!
-Can we please make the loft act like...you know.. a loft??? As in code it to be treated like the floor so beds and other furniture you'd want to put in a loft can be placed there.
-Fix the loft stairs so they can be placed anywhere as long as they're attached to the loft and floor
-Remove the "doors" on the Paper Partition or give us a version without them (i.e. the "doors" stay closed)
-more/better Asian themed interior walls and floors
-Add all the Xaela Tribe banners (or at least the major ones like Orinir, Dotharl, etc)
My current wishlist:
- Could we please look at some housing skins that aren't tied to animals or other overt themes? Like the Haukke Manor for those who like gothic style architecture, or even having a storybook house with a covered porch, or something that doesn't revolve so much around a minion or other critter.
- Related to that, please let us do more with the exterior windows? Give us bay windows or at least larger ones than the little portals we have currently with our future skins?
- I realize this is probably asking the impossible, but I would love to be able to re-arrange my interior walls. The setup on the mediums in particular is somewhat awkward with those little spaces under the stairs.
- Along the same lines as above I am desperate to be able to move/remove pillars and windows. They're very in the way in most of the places they are, and with the types of windows we have they don't really match anything.
- And I know I'm another voice among the chorus, but please, please, please allow us to dye our walls.
- Also, I would kill for the ability to break up wallpaper and flooring without spending slots on partitions or huge numbers of rugs.
I suggest for the coming expansion, that the building area (the highlighted area on a vacant plot), would have "preset" adjustble options, for the plot owner to select which direction their house is facing.
the same goes for the entrance gate which is adjustable to face a desired direction, consequently outside grounds details e.g. rocks, steps, trees, ditches in front of the gate adjusts to the directional setting chosen by the plot owner.
And on the side if possible have an option to construct a 3rd floor for cottages, since a lot of players are requesting increase the number of slots for items, the dimensions for the small plot would remain the same but with a 3rd floor.
My dream feature,
1. Store all furnishing with one button
2. More storage space
3. A way to save current decoration
Bassically can we have an easier to remodel our house often...
Can we Have a way to allow alts on the same world (example: exodus, behemoth) share a house instead of locking them out of house purchases and having to get an apartment?
I'd like paintings of each of the Primals to display in our houses/apartments. Maybe they could be purchased with primal tokens/sold to other players on the market board?
you know what would be cool? some sort of trophey for each job you max. like a banner with the guild logo or a displayable weapon or something.
double the outside item limit and add swimming pools. 30 items max for my medium house outside is way to little.
They really need to add an outdoor patio to apartments giving players the option to use outdoor items they've earned. Technically it's possible since indoor housing takes place in an empty blank space, all that would be require is adding a panoramic lay right outside of the patio that would display a screenshot of the ward giving the illusion of being outside.
Remove the "outdoor furnishing" tag from at least some items. There are some lawn items that would be amazing to be able to use indoors. Retainers come to mind, as well as the Bismarck fountains, and some of the plants. There are a lot of people that can only access housing through apartments and FC rooms, so at least let them use the items from yards, since they aren't able to own one to decorate.
I would like to ask for the kites from the Moonfire Faire decorations!
I'd like to formalize the upgradable apartment units suggestion. Apartment units upgradable from the basic studio type, to a large 3 bedroom unit for a 40M fee (the price of a large house, no sense going through a medium size), both Studio and large apartments have corresponding balconies with panoramic views for some outdoor furnishings.
Also:
Or:
Hmm, not that i'm opposed to any of this, just thinking out loud. First I'm not sure everyone can have a 3 bedroom apartments based on the current design and it might have to be something similar to wards, but how about this? Increase the height of the roof then have Small, Medium, and Large open floor plans and let players build the three bedroom apartment? All Apartments need to have an outdoor area too.
Oh, change the damn rules for Land ownership to One per Service Account regardless of when they purchased, yea it sucks for those purchased prior to 4.2 but needs of the many out weight the needs of you.
Change the rules for Free Companies as follows: A player can own one Free Company Estate and one Apartment. I use the word Apartment to prevent abuse of lone FC's having two houses. Another thought is to remove the 45 days demolition in lieu of adding property tax monthly to plots only. After three months of not paying taxes, player would lose the house. Also give the option for plays to sell back to either players or back to SE for the Minimum purchase price, again to prevent abuse.
Not opposed of loners FC have two houses since there is no FC leader fault if the other players leave and still you see in our server many FC recruiting because there are alot of recently joined players, when mean alot mean it.
Am opposed to one guy that owns 32 houses in the Mist that is way too much.
