HOW am I playing a "victim" unless of course it suits you to antagonize, you with no dog in the race, you with no issue with it. Victimization....look it up. Disputing and REQUESTING an alternate way to log into a game doesn't even come close to the usage "victimization" (don't rationalize your way to it, you can't.) Now then, if you have nothing constructive to add to a simple request of a service that does not affect you in any way, refrain from trolling for reactions. Rest assured, it will take a lot more than what you have posted to make me angry, after many years in this life, this means nothing. Its just I tire of people on this forum commenting negatively for no reason other than to be a bouncing stinking donkey's behind.

I guess agreeing to the ToS means no one is allowed to be unhappy about any changes to the product they paid for ever. Disliking and expressing concerns about a change you had no way of predicting and have no way to get out of dealing with is really just "playing the victim."

Sounds reasonable.

At this point it's almost all hypothetical. Aside from the small number of people who can't run Steam we don't know how the rest of the Steam-bound playerbase will be impacted. Since no information is forthcoming speculation is running wild, including drawing parallels to ESO which went through a similar change and in doing so caused all sorts of grief for its playerbase.
The chief concern is that Steam may add their own authentification servers to the login process since those servers are notoriously unstable and can be in a non-functioning state for days at a time, preventing people from logging into the game they pay a subscription for.

Are net cafés still a thing and do they typically have Steam installed on their PCs?

This is my only real problem right now - we just don't know.

I mean, if absolutely nothing is impacted beyond needing to hit play in steam before opening the launcher, then it really will just be a minor annoyance for me. It'll take a little longer to log in, I'll have to deal with updating and starting (and occasionally restarting for updates...) Steam, I'll have to figure out how to shut off Steam notifications and overlay or whatever, but then that'll be that. Inconvenient but not game breaking.

I just want confirmation that that's really all this is.

Just because such changes were POSSIBLE, doesn't mean that they were guaranteed to happen. Now that this particular change is happening people are voicing their concerns. Get over yourself.

I'm not "playing the victim." You're just looking for an excuse to be antagonistic.

Your point also doesn't hold water, as I've covered previously in this thread.
