Friend and I have been discussing the color change may not be directly linked to how many of X fruit you fed the chocobo.

Our theory is that:
1. There's a finite amount of times you can darken/lighten a specific scale before it reaches either end of the spectrum. Which would explain why when Rjain fed an additional 30 of the fruits, the color did not change despite she got the msg stating that her chocobo is growing new feather, unless her fruits happened to cancel out each other but I have my doubts since she's been playing with the system for a while. This theory still needs confirmation and would take additional time and information to figure out whether it's true or not.
2. The color change is associated to the "Your chocobo is beginning to grow new feathers" message not the amount of fruits eaten. This sounds pretty likely, since we already have people reporting chocobo not changing color when the message didn't pop up and people getting different result after feeding the same combination and amount of fruits.

So my FC mate got Grape purple. He said 65 red 20 blue and 30 green. Not the best pic but yeah..

don't take my feeding seriously as I lost count of the reds I gave.

65 red / 20 blue / 30 green -- all dark

Did mine twice, first was 3 pineapple> 5 valfruit> 1 apple turned into millioncorn yellow.

Tried again 6 Valfruit> 3 apples turned into Coral Pink.

It seems like its based mostly on what fruit you use first.

Got Regal Purple, was hoping for grape.
I used O'Ghomoro Berry x20, Xelphatol Apple x17, and Valfruit x21.
I tweaked the first Regal purple recipe a bit, hoping for a darker shade. (Original was O'Ghomoro Berry x17, Xelphatol Apple x15, Valfruit x18.)

Read the post above me, seems they did similar as far as the berries and fruit went. I think I just need to add more apples. I'll feed mine ten more apples, and see what happens.

Not sure where I should go next. I'm still wanting to aim for Grape purple, should I darken red more to get that effect? Any help is appreciated. At least we know different combinations can lead to similar results.

Fed my Chocobo 10 O'Ghomoro Berries and got Shale Brown.

My Friend and I's chocobo's

For Lime Green I used :

7 mamook pears, 2 O'Ghomoro berries and 1 Doman plum.

For Othard Blue he used:

30 O'Ghomoro berries, and 10 mamook pears

The feather msg finally stopped for me feeding my royal blue more berries.. not sure what I'll get in an hour. I assume I can only go lighter now or a different color. I'm guessing he'll be the darkest blue possible?

I went to the university of texas so I might go for a burnt orange!
