anyone have a screenshot of the full soldier set?
The art team made a huge derp on this one imo....
Thanks for glamouring though!
I disagree.
I got a question Plz help. Ok I started working on atma drg weapon. So far while in drg fate farming I got 2x bull, 2x twin, scale and scorpion atma, my question is can I use the extra bull and twin in my next weapon or I can't use it on other jobs since I've obtain it as a drg? Which fallow up on my 2nd question, since I have the quest activated already for drg, can I switch to another job to farm atmas for my drg?
Extras can be used on other weapons, yeah. And any job can be used as long as they have their Zenith weapon equipped.
So I can swap to my mnk for tagging purposes during fate to hunt down down crystal for my drg? Can u get an atma crystal if u don't have a zenith weapon? I ask this also because I have a friend who is whm with her zenith but farm crystals as her blm and she have gotten all 8 of her crystal for her whm weapon as a blm, but if I remember it right she have bought her self a primal staff(Rowena token) before 2.2, so I'm not sure if she have her zenith on blm while farming crystal for her whm.
Sort of related to another thread ("What Makes You a Top DPS Player?"), but wanted to brainstorm:
First, on the subject of sliding: the Head is able to be attacked a little sooner (~1 GCD) than the tail during/after Body Slam. Time enough for a HT > Phleb > cross over, maybe lose ~.2 to .5 seconds of GCD time.
Second, I'm wondering aloud if it's worth losing a few rounds of autoattacks to spread DoTs between both head and tail, never needing to use unbuffed filler Full Thrust. Like...
(Tail) HT > Ph > IDC > I > (Head) DC > Phleb > Heavy > (tail) Ph > etc
I don't have a pen and paper to compare sticking to tail over spreading to it + head, nor do I really have a lot of weight to say whether it's practical or not. But I've been doing it (and spreading between Spumes of course) and it seems effective.
Theres a way better thing than to slide from an orb to another, its called spineshatter / dragonfire dive. No time loss.
How do you go from Weathered Liberator to Liberator?
EDIT: Crap read it wrong.
Think you get the Sands of Time from Coil, then go to Hrystmill and there's a guy who will upgrade it there

In regards to Levi ex fight:
"First, on the subject of sliding: the Head is able to be attacked a little sooner (~1 GCD) than the tail during/after Body Slam. Time enough for a HT > Phleb > cross over, maybe lose ~.2 to .5 seconds of GCD time."
I agree with attacking the head first with phleb since it pops a little sooner than the tail. If you're close enough you can get a phleb in on the head as your sliding down, then elusive jump to the other side right as the tail is popping (careful not to go off the edge in later phases) Also when you're sliding down on the phase right before the single add, do a phleb to the head then SSD to the tail, start a rotation, then DFD to single add and finish rotation. SSD isn't as necessary for the single add cause you don't want to ruin the stun resist.
I love this fight. Show me 'dem backflips!!
Well, the idea is you get some H-Allagan gear and but some soldiery gear on the side to supplement, with priority probably going to maintaining your accuracy cap whilst increasing your ilv.
Also, don't forget you gotta actually buy the soldiery items with soldiery tomes, so even if the team you were with decided to pass you the sands every kill for 12 weeks, you wouldn't be able to buy something to wear every week :P
Yeah, I just meant that if you wanted every soldiery "myth" item upgraded from weathered it would take at least 12 weeks of T8 kills.
Sidenote: Why are people so hung up on Leggings vs Ring vs Boots/Chest?
The Weathered Liberator(465.452 DPS WEIGHT) = Upgraded LEVI Weapon (Tidal Wave Harpoon(462.279 DPS WEIGHT).
I would imagine the best use of your soldiery items provided you trust your coil group to be able to down T8 would be to buy a weathered liberator and then upgrade it to liberator.
bam.. 2nd best weapon in game and a massive dps boost (Liberator (488.682 DPS WEIGHT)) only second to High Allagan(most likely T9 with a 511.088 DPS weight)
[EDIT] with how horrible a drop rate mirrors have it would seem that saving 1300 soldiery tomes might for the w. liberator might be a good idea
OOoomg you guys seen the X-Potions of Strength? HQ gives 84 STR lol... That's nearly a difference of 2.7WD extra over the Mega-Potions of Strength HQ. That's insanity. Critting for 1566 atm.
Hah, yea I did happen to notice that but haven't tried one out yet. Finally almost done gearing DRG, just need boots from t5 and some crappy belt with too much accuracy. Speaking of which, that Wolfram Belt looks really nice.. Too bad I'll never have enough gil to buy it lol
Been doing some testing with my BRD friend with the new X-Potions. I peaked 585dps burst in 20s. My bard friend peaked at 640 in 15s lmao (480~ 20s). They're absolutely insane those potions.
What do you think about the purchase order ?
I saw many DRG buying the chest.I just bought the ring and will buy the pants today since it's a drop on T8.(We're on T7 so it won't be "farmable" soon...
Thought about this one for the bis what do you think about ?
http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/M4ZU
http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/M502 use this for that accuracy
Time to see if my ALC can HQ these without more melds...
506 for T8 accuracy from flank/rear, according to someone I've spoken to who's currently working on T8.
EDIT: Just got my Weathered Astrum Hose :D.
Yeah, since I wrote that I've started doing that method, especially at the initial slam where the tail is delayed an additional 2 seconds.
In terms of crossing from head to tail, if you hit your GCD at max melee range, you only lose like 0.1s of GCD (and possibly an AA) before you are in range of the other side.
Typically, also save DFD for the first double add spawn to either hit both adds or the add+tail depending on positioning. 2 hits > 1. Generally I will blow the SSD right at the start after the initial slam and head sequence because the slam is long and I'm stuck in the corner, so I'll lose a large fraction of a GCD if I just run.
Other than that, I will mostly save 1 SSD for the orbs to transition between near side and far side. I'll also tab-dot them (CT + PH) in a high DPS group. No reason to stick with direct damage.
Also, I use any jump to cancel the slide to stick on orbs if I can't slide into an orb (vanilla Jump will also place you at your target, not at your original position, strangely).
Due to the extra Phlebotomizes thrown on head + tail, the amount of TTT time is very low.
My friend says my highest parse on Levi is at 265 so far.
I was wondering when someone else would find weird behavior with Jumps and Slams.
Personally, I'm hoping its not a bug that the slides are canceled when you use a Jump (any of them; I save Elusive just in case I screw up and can't get far enough away on a Slam, for example)
It doesn't seem to be a bug for the most part. The jump movement overrides the slide for the duration of the jump (the slide is not actualy cancelled). If you SSD or DFD really soon on the slide, you will continue to slide after the jump ends. As a sidenote, Monk charge and BLM teleport also 'negate' the slide mechanic in similar ways. Tempered Will will also negate slide.
The only odd behavior is Jump itself, because it doesn't return you to your original location; instead you get stuck at the destination, which is really really freaking nice actually.
Wish Jump would always work like that and SE could cut the animation time on it to boot.
I'm leaning heavily towards the feet for my next buy; I still have the Myth feet, so the Sol feet are a good upgrade from there, whereas the body is still an upgrade but not as much as the feet are (all that DET and Crit, gone :( ). Body would likely be the next thing (so another two-ish weeks). I also have the Levi Spear, and am farming for the mirror, so there's that too.
Getting a 20 DPS weight upgrade from replacing my Allagan/Myth with Fully Melded Wolfram gear, (HEAD,HANDS,WAIST and FEET only). Stacking 18 acc (16 for waist) on all of them is gonna give me some nice breathing room for a bit ^^.
Also going to buy my weathered hose since I feel good about my mirror chances (already have levi spear) ^^.
weee with all of that I am going to have the following:
0 acc set(actually 449): 731.652 DPS weight
458 acc set(actually 465): 729.62 DPS weight
482 acc set (actually 486): 726.644 DPS weight
[EDIT] Above weights are slightly below what they should be since im using old weights by mistake, damn excel.
Well, cleared T6 about 30 mins ago. Got the High Allagan Hands of Maiming (Caster Ring also dropped). Was told I had a few misses (like, 1 per attempt; sorry, can't parse) from the front; 473 Acc.
Yup. 472 is the base Accuracy T6 for Flank/Rear. Guildy recorded 1 miss at 472.
