"Everyone's so open and friendly" is a lie

There're always 3 sides in a story. Sometimes, players being passive-aggressive towards you isn't just one-sided. If it keeps happening to you peeps, then maybe try self-reflecting a bit. Maybe it's also a you problem.
Personally, i've only encounter someone being hostile towards me once. But it was nothing personal. We were wiping and most players in that group were getting irritated.

I find the most toxic players I've encountered are around when it comes to hunts. I don't know why. We have one guy who always pulls instantly while others are trying to get through the bottleneck at the aetheryte and into the instance, so the boss is dead within 30 seconds before most people can even get there. And he enjoys doing it because he knows everyone else will jump in with him and there's nothing we can do about it. He gets off on trolling people with it because he knows he can get away scott free. And worse still, many others defend him and mock the people who just ask for them to wait a minute for two before pulling that S rank.

Probably the worst part of the community I've seen.

Sometimes the way I hear people talk from this community makes me wish I was playing WoW. There's way less social restrictions there and even then I don't often find people pushing the limits of what they can say. I'd put this game right between League of legends and Smite with how angry people get over the silliest things sometimes. My advice OP, just play the game and tolerate the people. You can do just fine without getting into any relationship with the denizens of this community.

Why not just play WoW, then? Genuinely, I'm not shooing you off. If you wish for it, why not go for it? It's just a subscription away.

While it could be seen as trolling, do we know if he did the work to make it spawn? I'm all for letting a few people get there, but I'm not going to wait 10 mins for everyone on the entire DC to get there to share in my spoils.

Those players in Eureka and the players killing hunts they didn't spawn are playing the game as intended. If the devs wanted everyone to contribute to spawning, they would make it so that only spawners get the tag. Just like treasure maps.

Just make a chat tab that only displays NPC text, tells, and FC chat. The game becomes 10 times better.

Here's the thing we are no longer just FFXIV players...
