White Raven earring given out at The Rising event 2018

I don't know if many people here are just young and inexperienced but businesses can change their policies and minds whenever they like. We all signed a ToS explaining this and agreed to it. Did none of the people who "lost their faith in SE" bother to read it at the start?

Plans change. Different directions are taken. Comments 5+ years old should not be taken as law. From the looks of things, no item is sacred in this game. Realize that and decide if you want to keep supporting this game if it offends you that greatly.

I hate to say it, but it's not looking good. To make any changes to this event SE would have to do maintenance/hotfix and being as it's only a few days away now and the weekend is also coming up... :(

I'm surprised people are still complaining about digital earrings which hardly anyone sees. I can bet majority of people forgot about it until they saw it in The Rising and now suddenly care. As long as I can say I done the fight why would i care about earrings? They could give it away but you can still say you beat the fight from 1.0 so what is the problem here?

Right, I can understand that. But here's what a lot of people are forgetting:

They don't owe you anything.

You are paying a fee to access the world they've built according to their rules and wishes.

Of course, this world can't exist without paying players. Paying players HAVE a voice. How much of that voice actually reaches its intended audience is another thing entirely.

Get enough loud voices together declaring your game is hot garbage and you can either scrap it or rebuild it. Fortunately for us, they chose the latter.

You can not put any trust in what they say all you want, but players speak with their pocketbooks. If you are still here, it means that the benefits, to you, outweigh the downsides.

(Not you, personally of course - but players as a whole).

To be fair, people probably would be more sympathetic towards the people that did complete the fight, but when people sprout comments out they feel humiliated (No what is humiliating is removing the specific legacy campaign exclusives), or that we don't deserve it, then it does warrant it, granted it is something out of our control. People will be spiteful especially with partially misdirected comments. It does also help to know when people are and aren't being sarcastic. Whether the items are given out like freebies or not is something nobody even knows so it's just too early to even sprout that.

Granted people spent effort on it, and potentially lost sleep or booked time off work to complete the content, but that remains true for anything. People spent massive volumes of time completing former raid tiers, for their items, mount and so fourth, for people to what? Come along, unsync it, nuke the bosses down like mechanics are irrelevant. Old items, you'll still have the memories associated with them, and of the encounter itself. We don't have that, and that takes precedence over some earrings that most people have only ever stored in their retainer.

Ah, let me clarify this. Games with virtual worlds and are otherwise fabricated or not based in reality. Games and their associated content with no tangibility. Once someone decides to pull the plug, the game you're playing, your account, your time and money invested, has no actual value. The only thing you're left with are memories during that time and nothing more.

I sincerely hope that clarifies it for you, though I thought since we were on an MMO, this would have been a given. My mistake in this assumption.

(Actually, if you had taken in the context of my ire, you'd realize I was not-so-subtly saying, "You guys blew this far out of any appropriate portions by creating such outcry over something that simply doesn't matter. Both sides are guilty of this. What did you expect was going to happen when people called it "just earrings," "just pixels", "it's just a game, lol" basically making fun of people. Come on now. Just go re-read the first two pages, where people are explaining why they are upset, mostly reasonable and a suggestion (I mean it's literally renaming it, with the glamour still being released), and the other side literally making fun of them.

Former raid tiers is a moot comparison, as they never said they were going away like the 1.2x content. You're doing what you're accusing other people of doing, like comparing the ravens to ultimate which of course isn't the same either since right now they are not indicated to be removed from the game. After the first time unsyncing stuff it is to be expected now so people go into it knowing that sometime down the line people will faceroll it.

I'm surprised this thread didn't get cleansed yet.

...Because they are just earrings, just pixels and it is just a game. It has nothing to do with actually making fun of someone. It's just the truth.
