1. New stuff are always new. Even if it's old content in a new package.
2. Dragons.

Sorry but they are hardly dragons, even though they are meant to have a concept of a dragon i sadly can hardly see it and just looks lackluster. They are meant to be hybrid of dragons but just seems lazy, as someone said just looks like Elezen with horns and tails. I have seen other games make hybrid races or full race and they look cool. This in my opinion hardly looks cool or cute. This is what happens when a new race comes everyone loves it but then they will go back to their old race and then SE has made their money. Overall just my opinion anyway so yeah.
You guys do realize that he did actually say they are not Dravanian nor are they related to Dravanians. They can't be Shiva's descendants, hell even Shiva having descendants is a creation of fan fic writers. It's never once stated nor implied that anything came of it, only that it's what made her heretical.
there is not. More Elezen than Roe. Still only a few.
Also, Hellguards are the less represented race of all.

Shiva lay down with a dragon. That's what started the whole 'Ishgrard hates Shiva' mess. Then iceheart decided to use Shiva as a vessel of power as a means to an end to try and get her own agenda.
So it's entirely possible.Quote:
It is revealed that in Ishgardian lore, Shiva was a woman who, in centuries past, became the lover of a dragon. Thus the Holy See of Ishgard consider her to be a great blasphemer, while the heretics who serve the Dravanian Horde revere her as a saint.
"Possible" and "implied" are two very different things, though. We know that Shiva lay with a dragon (well, as much as we know anything about her, anyway). We don't know, nor is it implied, that their union bore any offspring. This is a case of God Never Said That trying really hard to become accepted canon. It's still only fanon at this point, though.
It's not imlpied, I never said that it was. That's why it's a possibility. If she 'lay down' with a dragon and there's a possibility that's true, then the fruits of that are also a possibility.
What IS implied, is that if someone lies down with someone or something (fantasy hoo-ha's a-foot here) that offspring are a possible result. Irregardless of "But Shiva isn't a dragon". It is a fantasy game, we have cat people, and now dragon people. "But they never mentioned it either" They never mentioned a lot of things that came to be, that's the fun of it.
Schrodinger's Cat.
Regardless of whether it's a 'fan-based' assumption or not (which I completely agree it is, I'm not disputing that), with what little we know, there's always plenty of room to guess/suggest, that's the whole point of the whole thing.
World of Warcraft as a joke implied that they were going to add a new canon race; The Pandaren as an April Fool's joke. That April Fool's joke has now led to an entire expansion dedicated to it, simply because the fans loves the idea of it.
Big things usually have small beginnings.
However, if you're still struggling to understand what I mean by the word possibility;
Quote:
possibility
ˌpɒsɪˈbɪlɪti noun
a thing that may happen or be the case.
"relegation remains a distinct possibility"
So, to recap:
Anatha: It's never even implied that Shiva had descendents.
You: It's possible she had descendents.
Me: Possible is not the same as implied.
You: It's possible! Do you not know what possible means!?
>_>
Also, it'd be cool if you could explain how Shiva's heretofore unmentioned descendants moved to an entirely different continent and multiplied enough to be a full race in the time since Shiva lived.
