Royal Blue + Apples can = Regal Purple (most common), Abyssal Blue (uncommon) or Midnight Blue (seems rare, happened to my hubby last night. No others reports of it)

Yes, that happened to me too. I went from Snow White to Celeste Green, skipping over Ice Blue.
Just using Doman plums, and feeding one at a time, 1 minute apart.

Yup yup.
I'm interested to see where it goes, considering I came from the Pear Line (Moss Green) --> Berry line (end at royal blue), to see if there is any difference in results going up apple, or if it will go as predicted. Either result will be fun to see.
...Unless I get like, Snow White. Then we can all rage quit at this.
My notes on my spreadsheet say this for Snow White:
+ Pear = Sylph Green
+ Plums = Ice Blue or Celeste Green
+ Berries = Ice Blue
+ Berries = Celeste Green
+ Berries can HQ Lotus Pink
+ Valfruit = Lotus Pink
As we gather more data it seems that many colors have a chance to go to one of a few colors. There seems to be sort of a common-uncommon-rare type of chance as to which color it will be.

Argh.. Guess I know what I'm doing next.
Not Apples or Valfruit from Rolanberry... Pears now and coming from the red side.
Now I just hope those Valfruit somehow dumped me back down to Sunset Orange, but I doubt it.
By the way Snootles... I ended up back at Currant Purple from Deepwood Green after feeding a Valfruit. So, I have given George one pear this time, and received the "growing new feathers" from that single pear. I will let you know what colour it changes to.
So close a few times - Marsh Green + 1 Berry gave me Deepwood Green, and the Deepwood Green + 1 Valfruit (which I expected to give me Soot Black or Void Blue) gave me the Currant Purple again.
Starting to think that my chocobo just doesn't want to go Soot Black XD
Hi, just wanted to report something I didn't find anywhere else yet :
Sunset Orange + Mamook Peer (10x, got 1 "new feathers" message) = Pumpkin Orange
Here has been my leveling path so far. I'm planning to get some kind of grey, but atm just having fun with it and testing out directions
Code:Start Result Fruit Fed Qty to feather message
Desert Yellow Milicorn Yellow Apple 3
Milicorn Yellow Pumpkin Orange Apple 8
Pumpkin Orange - Apple None - 9 fed switched fruit
Pumpkin Orange Coeurl Yellow Pear 8
Coeurl Yellow Pumpkin Orange Berry 1
Pumpkin Orange Sunset Orange Berry 3
Sunset Orange Blood Red Berry 6
Blood Red Regal Purple Berry 5
Regal Purple Dalamud Red Valfruit 6
Dalamud Red Regal Purple Berry 1
Regal Purple - Valfruit None - 13 fed, switched fruit
Regal Purple Plum Purple Plum 4
Plum Purple Lavender Purple Plum 7
Lavender Purple Colibri pink Pineapple 8
Colibri pink Pear 5
That's awesome. I actually contemplated what the colors/fruits system would look like in a 3 dimensional cartesian coordinate system, but i didn't have the time yet to examine the observational data to validate the hypothesis. What kind of accuracy are you getting?
While I can't tell you if Boomerz's approach is correct, I can say that it is a step in the right direction. From a programmer's perspective (me): while the spreadsheets and charts might be useful for most people to see and predict how they go from one color to another, it would make almost no sense to write code which WORKED in this fashion. It would be obscure, and frankly a coding clusterf***. While it is easier to SEE it as walking a color tree, there is a SYSTEM in place. A mathematical formula which determines what color you arrive at, we just haven't figured it out yet. But this theory seems extremely promising.
