Part of my wish list is for more CC. One of my ideas is to have a 3rd and in some cases 4th tribe added to all races .. but as hybrids.
So lets say you want your potato to have kitty or bunny or dragon ears and tail, there's a tribe for you. Want your human to have pointy ears like that HW npc? You're in luck, humans have a tribe for that. Want your corpse to have a pair for people ears? Cool. Want your kitty girl to look more like a half cat person? NP, we got you with that bunny kitty cross that will give em animal feet and claws.

Figured that new animations wouldn't be needed. Cause they would be working from the base for all of them and where the cross isn't that big of a change you could add in an option to give them a "hometown" that dictates the source of their animations. Like an elezen cross who is crossed with a human can use human animations because they have grown up with humans as opposed to an elezen human cross who grew up with elezen.

And crosses would have to be within reason which would limit them down to a decent yet fun amount imo.


But yeah, kinda wanted to get that out before my sub ran out and I can't post anymore lol.

Bunny people are my number ONE though ..

Bunny concept art is there, and we NEED a new race.
What are the other options? Bangaa, Lupine, CATFISH?

If they are going to add Viera, it better be Ivalice Viera. I am tired of moe looking characters and if it wasnt for the Roegadyn and Elezen animations, I would have jumped ship. They already showed us artwork, just bring those Viera to the game. I meant the one that looked like Ivalice Viera and not the short teen looking one.

HARD agree. I really want a smaller male race. The tall ivalician lady viera would be cool with smaller, cuter males. The Au Ra dimorphism kind of bothered me, but with something vice versa would be really refreshing and help balance it out.

I still support this. Veira would be a nice race, just give them at least one face option that looks rabbit like and I'd Fantasia fast.

Alright, I have a really crazy theory that I don't know where to post so I'll put it here.

First off, I'm sure by now that everyone and their chocobo has heard about the supposed leaks and this got me thinking about something.

As I'm sure everyone who likes Viera would know, in the lore male Viera are never seen and nobody knows what they look like. This would give the dev team a bit of leeway in their design, as they have nothing to imitate. We know from the concept art they revealed at Fanfest. That they considered making male Viera just buff dudes, but scrapped Viera as a whole as they considered them too similiar to Miqo'te.
If they were to go through and add Viera, they would have to give them a very different design to Miqo'te to make them stand out. A lot of people are theorising that they'll be reverse Au Ra (i.e. Tall girls and short boys.) which I like the sound of. For the time being, let's consider the reverse dimorphism theory to be true.

Now with the release of the Ridorana raid, we were introduced to two things to bear in mind: The confirmation of Viera and how Moogles look since they introduced Hurdy and Montblanc, two Moogle characters from the Ivalice games.
Now I'm not sure how others felt but I was personally disappointed that they kept the XIV Moogle design rather than using the Ivalice Moogle designs.
But then a thought came to me: "Moogles are one of the more popular designs to come from Ivalice, wouldn't it be a bit of a waste to restrict them to a couple of quests in a raid?"

So if the leaks are correct and Viera will be the next playable race, this means that they'd be our first playable beast tribe. Since this means we'd have a playable beast race, what's to stop their designs from going a little further than just "human with bunny ears". What's to stop them having a little bit more fur? Or maybe a little less height?

No offense but I wouldn't consider getting small furball males the "best of both worlds". I will happily take my mostly human bunny boys, thanks. If they decided to have clan dimorphism- one clan being tall and the other being short- that would also be fine. But I really want a cute bunny boy instead of yet another tall and manly man race.

There are other rumours about races in 5.0, like...

Ronso being introduced in addition to Viera.

But they're just rumours, so who knows what's really going to happen.

If they are going to cave and add it, which is likely, then I at least hope they add both of these versions for both genders, two different clans maybe?

Lalafells are the only short race we have so another shorty race would be nice for variety, and then of course the tall Viera for people who like the traditional Viera look.

If we were to get another short race, I'd rather they not be cute/childlike (again). And if the second clan for Viera do happen to be short, I'd be fine with them being like (Tolkien) Dwarves... but Viera edition.

Sign me up for the short/cute vierra version <3. As a fan of ff12 this is something i have always wanted to see in a sooner than later expansion :)

I can't really prove or disprove you either way, but I would not want the male viera to look like that. I prefer the short and cute male viera from the concept art. Or male viera that have Alphinaud's body type.

We don't have a race with slim, short (but taller than lalafell), and cute male characters. Male miqo'te are still well built. Elezen are slim but not short, and their proportions are weird. The short viera from the concept art are not as short as lalafell and are less pudgy. Something between the height of lalafell and female au ra would be nice to have.

I always liked the concept art for Viera and I do agree with also having two different clans as well as more variety..

Many keep clamoring for the "Small/ Cute" version. I really can't help but think it's nothing more than child versions of the race. Just as all races have child models in game (except Roe...) Would it not make sense that Viera would also have those models aswell? I wouldn't mind them in the game, but not as a playable race.

As far as I can tell, the concept art that was drawn were ideas for a playable race. I am definitely in support of a small/cute version of viera, as well as the tall/elegant version. I want both to be playable.

Short/cute viera:

-The concept art showed rabbit tails
-Digitigrade feet
-Claws

Why do lalafells pass for you, while the short/cute viera do not? Lalafells are closer to real children than viera will ever be.

No thanks. I don't mind a new race that is short/burly/muscular being added, but I don't want viera to be roped into it. If you want a dwarf race or whatever, I hope you will one day get it, just not as viera.

Lalafell's get a pass mainly because of how similar they are to Tarutaru, since that's what the 1.0 team were going for (and I can't exactly demand SE to delete Lalafell's). Depending on the glamour you go for, they'll only look like children if that's what you're aiming for. Otherwise they just look like really short adults (at least, to me they do). I believe Yoshi-P also said something about the proportions of Lalafell's being a little different to children (heads too big or something), which was a response to people asking for Miqo'te children to be playable (that's a big no from me, too).

With the childlike Viera concept art... they look 100% like children. Very similar to Miqo'te children in design, now that I think about it.

And I'm only suggesting the short burly Viera be the second clan. That way those who want the tall elegant Viera get what they want and those who want something short that isn't cute (for a change) get something as well. It's win-win in my eyes.

I honestly don't think we've seen Lalafell children yet, especially as Tarutaru in FFXI did have them (they were very tiny).

It's still a huge no thank you from me for the second clan of Viera to be literally children in appearance (made worse if Viera children in the 'FFXII' clan look exactly the same). You get the FFXII Viera with one clan, I get a short and burly Viera (the first short race to not be cute) for the other clan. How is this not win-win to you?

I shouldn't have to explain it. If tall Viera (FFXII) clan kids look like the short clan Viera, then that just tells me that the second clan is literally children (runaway kids) and that's just no. No thank you.

If I had a choice? I'd abolish all of the races in this game and then go the GW2/WoW route with their races.
