Man that sucks and I feel your pain. For my last round I had to retake a bunch of shots because I forgot to turn up my graphics settings after dungeoning. While they say the judges don't factor that into their decisions, the random forum goers certainly might. So I retook the entire set and had to wait for specific weather that took foreeeeever to come. Your shot this past round was both hilarious and beautiful and I loved it so I kinda think yours will be good this coming round as well regardless.

I went through this same thing. Trying to find a screenshot that both looked good and fit the theme was challenging. If I'm not cut tonight, this next round will be the first that I'm sketchy about my own submission.

Wow, I missed voting (things got a wee bit busy) but I just wanted to say that Cycle 3: Round 2 cosplay theme was amazing!!!
I think all of the models did a great job! This was one of my most favorite rounds hands down.

It isn't until I see these things and pause that I see just how much is possible with the armor we are given in game.
^_^ I look forward to round3 and I will be back to voting on that one for sure!

And after a VERY hotly contested debate, this week's "S-Rank Shot" goes to Lowena Fae! Congrats Lowena! We were debating for far too long between at least four shots for this one. Everyone, absolutely amazing job this round. I couldn't be prouder of all of you.

OMG!!!! I can't believe I did so well this time, I even did better it seems by the judges standards too!!! I could care less how many votes I got, I'm just happy people got my shot and that it translated so well! If I go out any time now after this shot I'm already happy, proud of myself, and can hold my head high. This was probably my favorite shot on the list, tied with 2 others. So yay!

And Carbuncleulations Lowena!!! That Poison Ivy shot was deliciously evil!! >:D Well deserved!

This really was an amazing photoshoot this time around, I really thought people brought their A-game, seeing as so many of us are so frustrated with the next one I'm really interested in seeing how we all fair... lol

Also Judges: Thanks for the feed back it is always appreciated and I got a few good ideas from it~!

Going into it I didn't pick her thinking she was FFXIV so would be an easy cosplay. I just really love her and have from the start in beta of 1.0. Honestly, she's probably my favorite character in the game. I knew it was risky doing a FFXIV character, even though there wasn't a rule against it, but I had to do something I really loved so if I went out at least I'd be happy~! I don't really watch a lot of TV and Movies , and all my other ideas were just popular characters and I figured they would be done (which two were lol) so I just went with my heart~! :D

But I can understand the critique and knew it would be a risk~! Thanks a lot though Judges, I really appreciate your words and your hard work~! Hopefully my next will be nice, though (along with others it seems) I'm not very confident about it. :3

there really was no other tough pose that she could do lol, all sexy poses were too cute for Mystique
I didn't think it would make sense to have enemies, then she would most likely in disguise with people around
I think I may overthink things because I had some pictures that were more interesting but felt they did not suit Mystique

Thanks to the judges for the feed back and everyone who voted! Quick question, one judge stated before this round ended that quality wasn't a judging criteria. Yet, one judge suggested I bump up my laptop graphics whenever taking screenshots, while another said things were pixely. Is this something the judges look at or not?

After round 3, I should have my PC back up and running. (Had to get a new hard drive.)

Screenshot quality is not taken into consideration when scoring. They just put that in there as general advice, partly because there was so little to offer about your shot in the way of things to improve!

I'm so glad you models are enjoying the contest! :3 It's super fun judging but very hard too! Everyone was so good this round, and we are told we must give so many 1s each round. Keep wowing me please! I love it~ sorry to see San out, please do keep posting here gurl. <3

I probably won't be changing anyone's minds with next round's shot - which I just changed again, hehe. I'm leaving it at that! Big thank you to Lexington for helping me create a story in my next shot... I really wanted to have a "story" this round rather than just standing around and posing, which is how many of my ideas ended up looking sadly!

FYI, female models - we had some lost judge feedback that's been added to the bottom of the original critique post, so you actually get SIX judges offering feedback this week!

I'm so happy I made it. I knew Tina was a HUGE risk, and I'm glad I tool it if only because it was so much fun. And I can agree that I would've preferred the miqo'te to not be on the chair, but it was hard to aim for her butt otherwise o.o The Lala was actually the first person to volunteer to help me with that trial of the shoot, and I immediately knew I would never be able to reach her butt lol.

Also, I noticed a score missing from one my critiques! Judge 3 or 4!

I'm actually really excited for the next round personally, I felt like my idea just came really naturally. I tried really hard to experiment with other areas, but my first was still my favorite!

I'll post my round 3 shot in here since its already taken but then I think Sang will return to wandering.

I feel like my eyes are bleeding from trying to pick a shot. So not satisfied... x_x But the one I picked will have to do, because my nerves are in tatters from trying to get a picture I could use.


Congratulations Lowena! Yours was one of my favourites. (My absolute favourite, however, was Ariel ♥) I'm sorry to see you go, Sangriah! Adam is still in - right? With so many strong ones in round 2, I can imagine the judges had a really rough time. But this is how it should be!


Oooo, I can talk about my round 2 shoot now!

With my blue skintone, there were two options I was considering: Mystique and Smurfette. So if I hadn't had such a strong flash of inspiration from seeing the bridesmaid's dress, there could have been two Mystiques :p

The first problem was the hat, but with a bit of help from Eorzea's most adorable crafter, I got one that worked. Next was location. I knew there were large mushrooms, and I knew I wanted to play with perspectives, so the trick was finding mushrooms that had a hill or something elevated that was close enough to make sure I wouldn't be too small in the picture.

Found the place and got a friend to play Gargamel, working out angles and distances. Then it was a matter of waiting for weather and light... Weather was kind the first time around, but I found that the ONLY time that I would have sunlight on my face was for a few seconds at 8.30am and 9.17am - the rest of the day the spot was in constant shadow.

The second morning it was raining, so I had to keep standing there for another Eorzean day, or risk not being able to find the same angles again. That was a test of will and patience, hearing my friends go about their adventures and not being able to join in XD The third morning I got my sunny weather back, and I managed to snag a few more!

I couldn't ask my Gargamel to wait as long as me, so I only called her back when the weather watcher promised good weather (sooo glad they added that), and she returned with plenty of time to spare in order to be able to afk for a while... And parked right in the middle of my screen :p

I could have gone with the first good screenshot I got, but I liked the idea of a ring on Gargamel's hand to add a bit more detail, and the light on the dress in the first one was a bit glaring:

Also, thanks for all the feedback! I really appreciate the judges taking the time to give open critique, and it's very interesting hearing the reasoning behind the other voters.

Even if cosplay isn't my forte, and I fretted so much about outfit and was yet again really last minute, I had a lot of fun with the theme. The end result made me really happy that I applied to join ♥

I just wanted to commend all the models on round 2. All your shots were so creative and every one of you should be proud of what you submitted. I think, honestly this round was probably one of the only rounds ever that there wasn't a bad shot. As a judge for the guys, I am grateful none of my boys were eliminated this week and handing out any 1's, let alone 2 of them was really a struggle.

I know you all will keep up the great work and I am looking forward to seeing you guys raise the bar even more this cycle. hugs and more hugs for you all :D

This has been me as well. Took so many screenshots I stopped seeing good and bad and the strengths between shots.

Also all the Keepers of the Moons were very creative in finding cosplays this last round that utilized their deep blue skin tones. Very very gorgeous screenshots and I ♥ you all.
