Had personal experience of this. When I was still playing on Crystal, one of my friends had a bad relationship with their FC because they did the Eden raids together. To avoid them completely, they transferred out of the DC to Aether. So, there are people doing this for FC, although those reasons might be different.
This suggestion is especially useless when all of them literally advertise through multiple accounts and characters and majority of the people come to play a video game not to go to some virtual pretend club, have i mentioned that half of them go as far as to pay people in gils to make them advertise their club or whatever sick fantasy they have got going on? I have? Doesn't hurt saying twice
If all they wrote was "Party at my place tonight! /tell for details", I wouldn't find it nearly as irritating. It's the volume of text that drives me nuts. So much that they often cannot even fit it into a single shout. Of course, nobody is going to /tell for details because NOBODY EFFING CARES and they know that.
Blacklisting or muting is worthless because you'll never see them again. It's a different jackass every time. I'd much rather have better tools for preventing the spam; Term filters that actually prevent messages from appearing, rather than just changing it to a different kind of spam or the ability to set character limits.
Also shouting your twitch and discord links is gauche.
