Ithought the animus phase comes out 2.25. So the books after atma is the animus phase.
I (think) I've been doing the "perfect" rotation on the first minutes on T6 (full 90 NOT BiS) and I only hit around 120-160 dps :/
Don't think this should be like this.
When I used Fracture I hit a bit more dps but overall I sucked. I usually don't main melee so I wanted to hear what could be a major "issue" beginner dragoons do
Hmm what's ur perfect rotation consist of? If your able to do the standard drg rotation but buffs/debuff and dot falling off then that could also be it.
Also is there an updated gear materia chart that have the new i90 crafted stuff.?
Gear: I have only Allagan + Heroes gear.
Yes a few dots fall of sometimes but, would it impact so much? I mean an average dragoon should be around 300dps?
And by "perfect roation" I was pointing to the one from the 1st post.

Yeah dots deal a lot of dmg specially a fully buff dot. So u can't really skip out on them
And yeah that's pretty much the standard rotation. That's what I use
It's more than enough. We have a SMN with primal weapon(the shitty one in fact...)and it sill possible.Good strategy, good positioning are the key,to be honnest, the fight is really easy when you understand what to do,even easier than any "hard "primal" (leviathan and titan :D)
Whoever is using their hamsters in a spinning wheel to record your DPS, is either lying, or their hamsters are broken. With a perfect rotation, you'll be breaking 200 dps, even when you're playing horribly (I was avg. 220 my first few attempts).
EDIT: (The "P" word is forbidden)
EDIT 2: How much down-time do you have? As in, are there periods of time, longer than 5 seconds, where you're not dealing damage? (Excluding causes to mechanics). Are you using your burst whenever it's available, taking into consideration when Blighted Bouquet will occur?
MNK is like a melee Summoner. We deal most of our damage via DoTs.
Woot. Got my Wave Harpoon. Now I just need the Mirror to drop~
So the question arises, what to buy first with our soldiery tomes? Boots maybe?
Hands give the biggest boost but considering the allagan gloves drop in T6...
Just get the ring and you're on the safe side. Wait for the loot tables to crystalize aswell as best in slot sets and it'll be easy to figure out what to get first.
Damn it, still no i95 from T5 (gotten my T5 boots though), and no harpoon from levi after afew clears, i'm destined to be ... forever i90 :(
So we should hold back on our tomes? I could get the chest tonight, but i don' t think that'll be wise.
IT IS!!!!!
Really can't make up my mind what to get first. Don't really wanna hold out on getting anything would rather just upgrade now so it increases my groups chances of progressing new coil. Not a fan of the new body stats tho, I already have tp issues because my skill speed is so high due to bad luck never getting allagan1 feet/legs and will hopefully get tidal wave spear soon so the high ACC will not be needed for a while. The hands are nice but there is a chance they could drop this reset from t6, might just get the ring and feet.
Did someone show that the DRG feet drop in turn 7 ? I think i see it somewhere but its not in the loot pool thread.
I'm headed for the pants, stats are pretty good.
I'm personally saving my Sol for now. Yeah, the ring isn't a bad choice, but I want to make sure I get a good item first. And I still need to go farm T5 more...need my boots and spear :(
Tried T6 last night too; kept getting to the first Hornet and wiping to the second Bouquet or to the Spit after it. Need to get mechanics down and it shouldn't be that bad, IMO. Just requires a good bit of practice.
The clear winners of the soldiery question are the pants and ring. I'd lean towards pants for left-side Vitality upgrade.
The rest is a bit up in the air, depending on "what you can't get until T9" and what the exact acc caps / targets are.
Current consensus seems to be roughly 470-47x for T6. I suspect that's the same for all turns, but it might not be.
I'm just gonna get the Stronk ring for right now. Seems like a lot of the Soldiery pieces have accuracy which doesn't do me much good until I get the Allagan spear, which isn't likely to happen soon since if I beat T5 it will likely be as a Warrior.
Quoted this again for relevance. If I'm not mistaken, we'll start getting unidentified tomes in Turn 6. So if you don't think you'll have Turn 6 down within a couple weeks, you probably won't regret picking up chest and/or hands. Same goes for ring, since we have no choice but to buy it at this point. Even if you stumble into 7 and start getting unidentified tomes, it won't hurt that bad as you can still get your Levi weapon. If you're your super paranoid (you have decent reason to be), wait a couple weeks and see what gear floats to the top and is considered best. Gloam Ring is the safest bet for now.
The amount of new gear is insane, my head is still spinning a bit from all the options.
Is anyone doing atma? It doesn't seem worth it to me, considering the time spent vs. payoff... Might do it for my 2nd job or something, even still I dunno if I'll find that much time for it. Bleh.
I picked up the quest but haven't spent much time farming.. A few people in the FC got all their Atma over the weekend (they were grinding pretty hard) so even with the ridiculously low drop rate you can probably get all the atma in a week or two at a relaxed pace.
Also keep in mind you can get Atma on any job w/ Zenith, you only need to decide which weapon to upgrade once you get all 12
I have 4 Atma. Torn between upgrading Gae Bolg or Bravura first. Bravura Animus would be a better upgrade probably, since the WAR Levi and Weathered weapons both are...kinda meh (no Parry at all; the Weathered does have Acc, but my first Weathered will be Liberator, and won't be running Coil with WAR, so there's that). And then I throw Thyrus into the mix and get confused all over again (Levi weapon is out for WHM, but the Weathered and Allagan are both good...)
Probably is best to get Gae Bolg to Animus (or close to done) before 2.3, in case the next upgrade allows for good customization, because the Levi and Liberator are just better. Gae Bolg's selling point is the really high Accuracy...but looking over the gear lists, Acc shouldn't be much of an issue...
Thoughts?
I'm torn as well.. Right now leaning toward Bravura just because of the Parry (or lack of Parry on other weapons).. Thyrus probably wouldn't be a bad upgrade for WHM given the hefty amount of DTR on that weapon. I'd like to keep trying to T5 and see what drops I can get from there before deciding, though, that would suck to upgrade one of them only to get the Allagan right after lol
The only one I'd be "upset" over would be Thyrus if I got Allagan, but at the same time not really (Det/SS vs PIE/SS. Allagan would be good for learning content with the PIE, Thyrus is better when you know the content. Levi wand is right out, I won't use that thing at all).
The Allagan Axe is on a similar "meh" scale as the others (Acc/Det, good for meeting Coil reqs, but meh otherwise), but for DRG having the Allagan and Tidal is probably a good idea (Acc/Det vs Det/SS; one for Coil, one for everything else). I don't see much use for Gae Bolg right now, just because it has such high Acc and low Crit, only really useful for initially meeting Acc-reqs for Coil until you gear more...
I've pretty much made a decision on my end to put a halt on zodiac upgrade until 2.25 comes out, animus sucks period. So I'm going for Levi weapon the liberator. My drg and mnk will b endgame and tank will b for hm dungeons. I won't get the glam body I'm waiting on the i90 body and meld that with deter stat.
Finally got my wave harpoon, so, is following the T5 set a good example? since both don't provide accuracy.
Wave harpoon has acc on it.
3 hours of T6 @ 473 accuracy, missed 3 times out of around 20 attempts. Each time was an autoattack from the front.
Due to how itemisation works, the weathered pants gives you an overall stronger set upgrade, in comparison to everything else. Then, depending on the gear you have, it's either the gloves, or boots. But, i110 gloves frop Turn 6, so boots are probably a better option.
yeah had to get boots and neck, because I basically still had myth version of both of them and I would have had issues in t6 at 450ish accuracy I think
So I got like +1 acc (which make me sit now at 473) - 16 crit +20 det by doin so, which I'm by no mean sad about :p 333 det without t5 lance / levi ex weapon and not usin food, is pretty neat
When you look about it, pants and chest got inverted stats compared to Wyrm chest + allagan pants :D
Some people may disagree, but for T6 @ 473 accuracy, for me, the boots would be best after itemisation. If you want to use the Astrum Hose (Legs), with higher accuracy requirements, you'll need to purchase another Astrum piece to complement the loss off accuracy.
Yeah basically need pants and chest ;_;Quote:

Ok everyone I finally manage to buy HQi90 drg body here's the stat
29str
34 acc
17+6(melded) deter=7.475str
+33(melded) crit=6.732str which gives a total str of 43.207 compare that to suit of astray mail which gives a total of 44.162 str. So pretty close and it's better than weathered Astram. I'm happy with it so far. So what do u guys think.
Far too much non-refundable gil to be spent on marginal returns, in my opinion.
But hey, I've you got the gil to toss around, go for it.
Ah thanks, i calculated, if i take away the -34 accuracy from my trousers of maiming, and change it to the weathered pants, i would still be sitting around 474 accuracy (without food), i could bump that up with food definitely.
Could probably bump that up with a gloam ring in the next week.
Is it a good idea to swap pants if i can maintain the acc cap? (47x-ish)
My gear set is this, except i'm using wave harpoon.
Gloves: Allagan Gauntlets Of Maiming
Helmet: Wyrm's Armet
Chest: Wyrm's Mail
Waist: Hero's Belt Of Maiming
Pants: Allagan Trousers Of Maiming
Feet: Allagan Sollerets Of Maiming
Neck: Allagan Choker Of Maiming
Earrings: Tremor Earrings Of Striking
Wrists: Hero's Bracelets Of Slaying
Ring1: Allagan Ring Of Maiming
Ring2: Allagan Ring Of Striking
