True, but I wasn't referring to the scripted stuff, where the tank still holds hate even though the golem trots around. My enmity bar was through the roof most of the encounter for both golem and soulstone.
Sorry to hear that :(

I've noticed quite of bit of healers in my Expert Roulette runs are the "zero dps" type healers. Could the upcoming changes in ShB benefit them? Who knows?
Can we just get rid of rescue? I've seen it used approx 0 times in a useful way and too gods damned many times in a way just to annoy/harass a party member because the healer decided they don't like them for some reason. theres too many healers lately using it like a revenge tool (even when theres no reason for such revenge)
Take for example JUST NOW! (I mean it. I just left.) On an alt playing DRG about to get my last tomestone of philsophy for the mount I want. Drop into stone vigil and on THE VERY FIRST mob pack the first thing the healer does is pull me away from the pack as far as they can go.
"excuse you?" i say
"oops :P" they say.
the hells is your problem? litterally nobody said anything to anyone get and you've already got a problem with me.
so I just pull my usual "what am i willing to put up with today?" and leave.
things like this bs has happened to my wife and I over the past few weeks. I think every mmo dev should consider the power they're giving people when they add a skill that lets people jerk their party members around the map against their will.
It's on a long CD so it can't be spammed to annoy people.
It has a ton of use in all levels of content from optimizing in Savage to yanking some stupid dps that's way out in Narnia into a healing spell/effect like Asylum.
It shouldn't be gotten rid of, I've used it to great effect countless times.
Honestly it seems like you overreacted imo, it's a joke in casual content and you could have just lolled and moved on.
I find rescue a very useful skill, since I saved many poor souls with it who couldn't reach a safe place in time.
Also, healers are people too and they might just missclick and pull you away without any bad intention. It happens to everyone.
So please, don't generalize all healers who use Rescue for the greater good as bad and revenge seeking bastards.
I find more bs people who think that everything what happens to them is a thing to make them frustrated and make them feel bad. Unless healer keeps pulling you away on cd and you can clearly tell he has something against you, don't jump on conclusions which might not be the case at all.
could be the usual "eh just DF activity, dont mind me being lazy a bit", i get that a lot too when doing DF.Quote:

but surprisingly yeah, there a lot of healer out there who still stick with pure healing style play (with casting dot as their only way to help dps), i dont really mind though since 1. i do that too sometimes, and 2. as long they keep us alive and well, all good for me.
pls dont, i use that skill a lot for fun when iam with my guild or pug with "easy gong" DF party. i usually use it for fun prank when the last boss just need 1-2 hit from dps to die, i just pull someone (usually tank) to a big aoe or something =DQuote:

Is it just me or do people really NOT know how Castrum Meridianum works?
Even before the moogle event I've had constant streaks of people just pulling the whole schmeer instead of waiting 5 seconds for the searchlights to be turned off, AND pulling that huge phalanx of Colossi before Livia.
It's fine when I see they're new tanks, or doing it the first time but seeing 390+ geared people pulling just EVERYTHING? whadda fah?
And the cannons, nobody seems to realize if they tank up the road the cannons can't reach. Or maybe they just don't know what the cannons do?
Am i the crazy one?
i dont understand, is there some sort of mechanic that i missed in bardam's mettle last boss?
5 run, 5 times, the moment the boss start casting that nonstop aoe circle on the edge of the arena (the time when you need to destroy his 2 wings), i always see 1 or 2 member start running on the edge of the arena along with the nonstop boss aoe, this always end up with that guy dead, or being "rescue" by kind healer... which the guy just start running circle on the edge of the arena again, until he die.
like... just stay in the middle maybe? and help hit the wings?
I had the unfortunate experience to be in a duty run last night of Praetorium, where two of the party members engaged in full-blown cybersex.
Let's just say it was like an elephant in the room, no one really knew what to say or how to interject. The fact that instance also takes like 45 minutes to an hour didn't help things either.
Queued up for Alliance Raids with a friend, I was playing DRG, We were fighting the eye boss on World of Darkness, and he hits me with lvl 150 death, which binds me. Being the idiot that I am, I reactively hit illusive jump when binded and held still because illusive jump normally negates the status effect. Well it sent me flying backwards into the whole C alliance and wiped them u.u
There is, yeah. I'm not sure what it's called but I believe it has a marker over the targets head as well. After they get knocked back I've seen many players start running away from the AoEs coming behind them rather than going back to the middle. They usually die.
For my own story I had an interesting co-AST in Orbonne (which I got 0 mins in progress for mentor roulette, do people really just bail on it? That's dumb) who liked to overwrite my cards.
The first time they overwrote my AoE Balance with an AoE Spear and I didn't say anything. I wish they would have done it before I extended the buff but it is what it is and these things happen. Throughout Mustadio they did a lot of weird card things including putting a single target Bole on our tank (who was not tanking and hadn't tanked anything thus far) and spreading Boles, Spires and Arrows. I was trying to wait for them to play cards before playing my own, better for me to overwrite their bad cards with my useful ones right?
You'd think but then she wanted to call out in party chat for playing over her cards (mid boss, she died to overlapping AoE while complaining as people usually do - a tip to whiners in DF; you don't make your argument look any better when you can't even stay alive) and all was silent in party chat after that other than a SAM typing "LMAO" following her death.
As the boss ends I start saying "I wouldn't overwrite your cards if you played ones that had a point" but before I can literally every dps in our group chimes in with varying responses that all boiled down to telling her to shut up and play better cards or "just play WHM so she (me) can dps more" which was... not met well.
A vote kick apparently went up for me (because people started complaining about that in chat) before we pulled Agrias and the SAM managed to sass her pretty well while still doing mechanics. It was clear that the tank was with her at this point. I'm not sure why they wanted to kick me, I had kept the group up through her deaths and hadn't been the one leading the crusade against her. During the add phase I spread a balance and she went to overwrite it with an Arrow but her and the tank were at the wrong add and it only hit them. The SAM tanked our add with some Noct shields and despite being down a healer and a tank ours still died first by a mile. Makes sense, our dps seemed to at least understand what cards did so it stood to reason that they knew their jobs.
I tried to calm it down while in the crystal blocks but at this point both sides were getting rude. I offered to leave because I didn't want to contribute to it all but the dps wanted me to stay so I did. She died so many times on TGC it made more sense for me to heal than raise her so for the second time I solo healed for a while... until the add phase where the tank shirked me and I know he did because pulling enmity on AST is near impossible. I had Apocs and Pallisades coming at me as well as a Smokescreen and kept myself up with spamming shields... until I got hit by another groups lightning line AoE during a spicy auto attack. I went down, our add died and my cohealer didn't raise me.
I asked for raises in Alliance chat but my tank said not to raise me because I was trolling them. Amazingly no one raised me from another group and our only caster was a BLM. My group wiped to the next Cleansing Strike which spiraled down into a full group wipe soon after.
My group kicked that healer so fast I was shocked. The tank left on his own but not before the healer role had been filled. Enjoy your 30 min penalty there fam.
Everything was super smooth after that and I made some friends in the process. I'm going to call it a win.
One thing that I definitely won't miss during 5.0 with AST.
sorry, people who live in a delusion do tend to hate reality. for the past 2 years players from wow and eso have came up to ff14 and have ALL been complaining about the game not being what eso or wow was. and the more you complain the more you make bad things happen. the only fake new is the one spread by the cry babies who always comeplain that the game is not easy enough. if oyu weant to get pampered that badly i suggest you go play eso or maybe maplestory. you get fed gears easyly and the whoole game revolves on pressing the #1 key on your keyboard
I came here from ESO with my boyfriend and neither of us have ever done this. If anything my time spent in ESO makes me appreciate aspects of XIV that much more. During the time I played ESO as a vet trial healer I had one actual damage move mapped to my bars and that was only to add a weakness debuff to the enemies, coming from that to XIV where I can regularly be top dps in dungeons as a WHM is such a breath of fresh air.
Also healing in ESO was far from pressing 1 on a keyboard, I used all 12 of my skills regularly.
The hating on people from other MMOs is something that happens in every MMO but is particularly persistent in XIV.
I'm not sure if positive runs are allowed here, but I'll mention one. I ended up in Sastasha YAYYYYYYYY. There is a paladin Who was a mentor, Astro, Ninja (me) and a dragoon. The three players are friends. At the start I say "hello" Then I see the paladin say "OH NO SASTASHA EXTREME" I laughed a bit and we continued the run chatting on and off. We get to the final boss and he says my characters name "Think you can handle the boss's dps check?" I replied with " I make no promises".Of course we cleared I mean nobody wipes in Sastasha right?.... RIGHT??!! But yeah it was a fun run and went by really fast!
I went in Thornmarch. And what I see. Again the main boss is dying like a rat. Will synchronization always work like this now? Only 1-49 normal battles? Or am I only at 70 now I can feel the game? What is the interest?
yes a healer that pushes 34k dps and only needs 1 heal.... is basicly pressing #1 on the keyboard everynow and then ^,^ sadly i did play eso as well, friends dragged me along during an irl emotionnal crisis, last time i follow my friends into shit mmos.
havign been a healer from 2.0 to up to heavenswards, on my former main, and on this char as well.... only thing i have noticed is that the game was made easyer toa ccomodate wow and eso refugee, because i seem to have hurted your feelings princess, i will call them new players. i hope it makes your booboo go away for now.
the game has been made easyer and easyer each content because its "too hard" because run away refugee, weak sauce from their former mmos are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO used to stuff being stupid easy and to get fed gears that they complain when they have to do something they are nto used to. new trend being cry like a babygirl = win..... you can guess why healers have it easy now and are slowly turning into a dps with sub healing as well.
also before other players come at me, i almost threw my keyboard in my rig when they nerfed steps of faith and thats like 1 month after steps of faith came out iirc. this raid was perfectly challenging for everyone and forced player to fall in the apply strat or wipe.
I found healing very stressful in WoW, myself. It feels much more relaxed here. You even have downtime when you can DPS!
what baffled me is that some of these wow player quit wow because they dont like things the way wow right now, but complain in FF14 because it didnt look/play like the very things they hate from, which is (current) wow, what?Quote:

no comment on eso though, never into elder scroll series even back in singleplayer era.
hey positive tales is always good.Quote:

Who can say if i on "Duty finder settings" check point "Minimum IL" 390 ilvl player get 54 ilvl (dung descripion "avg. item lvl 54). Or ANY WAY he get 120 and kill all bosses solo?
im totally behind you on this one and im the one being called toxic by most of the people .... i wonder whos more toxic? me standing up for a quality game and doing my best to knock some common sense into weak sauce from wow and eso...
or wow and eso weak sauce for complaining that ff14 is not like wow and eso....
Alright, so since the moogle event dropped, I've been running those handful of dungeons that give you those tomestones, and so far most parties I've had for said dungeons have either been easygoing or wall-to-wall pulls. Especially in Stone Vigil. *shakes fist* you're lucky I'm on sch for this.
Three dungeons I've had today have been fairly quick (between 15-20 min), between 20 min Quarns and Vigils, I rolled Deepcroft and get an instaqueue for my last run. I load in and see GLA, PUG, and BRD. The second the gate comes down the GLA is off, but gets protect just in time. I'm thinking this would be another 15 minute run.
Oh my god I was wrong. This GLA did the following throughout the dungeon:
Used single attacks against a single target.
Would occasionally use Shield Bash, but it seemed like a fat-finger skill.
Only used Rampart once. ONCE. When they had less hp than the PUG.
Wore mostly lvl 5-10 gear, with head and feet 15.
Never used Shield Lob. He favored face-pulling.
Never, EVER touched Flash, despite the brd and I begging him to. I can only assume he thought it was the plague.
Needless to say, mob hate was everywhere. The BRD, my fairy, and I became the second tank. As for the PUG, they were afk for about half the dungeon run. 35 minutes later, we finally get to the last boss, and while the PUG and BRD know what to do, the tank was just...ignoring the adds and trying to attack the boss while it was still tethered. You'd think that you should do something when you see this big purple line and a different sound plus large text that reads INVULNERABLE means you should go find the source its tethered to and get rid of it. Nope.
Our special GLA never bothered to do so, despite the brd pointing it out in party chat.
Almost 40 minutes later after the dungeon started, we finally down the boss, and I watched the GLA 'nope' out of there awful fast. I commed the brd because good god they were an amazingly good sport.
HOW?!?!? there are add ons in wow that shows you who to heal, what to cast, when the healbot doesnt mouse over heal for you.
you have down time to dps as a healer exactly because wow and eso weaksauce complained that the game was too hard compared to wow and eso. god ff14 went from challenging to wow and eso easy mode. and im being generous with my words.
I know I'm probably preaching to the choir here...
But why are most tanks I run with in Stone Vigil either stupid or severely undergeared?
This moogle tome event has done a bit of good. Teaching healers how to heal stupid.
Just had a SV run with a Lvl 43 DRK who already had a Lvl 70 PLD... as I do at the start of every dungeon now. I check everyone's gear.
Everyone is at least item level alright until the DRK.
The stock standard lvl 30 weapon. Mainly Lvl 1 accessories with no bracelet. A mix of level 31-38 armour, I believe the armour with no headpiece and no feet.
Now I'm learning Black Mage. I'm no good at black mage and still getting the rotation down. But that didn't stop me from having Lucid and Diversion on cool down, constantly, for this run. The NIN died 3 times from ripping hate from the tank, including once during the final boss. If I didn't have CDs up, I would be on the floor instead.
The Astro from Siren deserves all the comms she could get for keeping that DRK alive ❤
Still DF is a cruel mistress.
Might stick with my FC to help tank it for a while.

This isn't the first time I've had issues in Qarn or Stone Vigil since the moogles event started... But since I've become a mentor, its been pretty glaring of how much an explination goes unnoticed or flat out ignored by sprouts.
Might start a running tally of how many times people die to doom during the first boss in Qarn after explanation... should be a fun record to break each time you I run it. (In case you were wondering... record is currently 7 times with 2 rage quits)
just went alliance raid and got 10 MCH in total (the rest is BRD)
the thirst for MCH is real
