I was updating my achievement spreadsheet and I realised I only have 2 achievements from the original 1.0 left, melding 1000 materia and 10M from leves. I'm close to finishing the materia one but only about 2.75M into the leves.

Looking good Cloe! (^_^ )-b I still have quite some way to go before I'll have my machinist at 60. Right now, I'm going Full Swing on the new Relic tier (for my Paladin).
As it stands right now, I have 2 out of 5 Aether Oils with roughly 4.4k Esoterics left to go. By the looks of it, I should have it ready in roughly 9 days from now.
(O_O! ) By the Twelve... You've been busy.
Was having a chat with the darling wife about the current JP event everyone has been talking about and how crazy it is JP hasn't just given in and put it in cash shop. srsly. Just put everything in cash shop like China events and anything else they have in store for exclusives. _-_ So I made this.. thing.

Has anyone checked out the new(ish) trailer for XV. The one with the "Stand by Me" cover?
FFXV Trailer
Wonder if we're getting Noct or the Bros' outfits/hair when it launches.
I read the forums on a daily basis and i must say... I find it alarming that there are so many people asking/requesting/demanding the FFXIV Team to put the items they want (or cannot get through regular in-game means) for sale on the Mogstation, whilst pulling out their wallets.
Truth be told, i’m not really the one to talk, since i’ve bought my fair share of DLC content for different kinds of games. I mean, my Rockband Song Library contained 404 songs at one point. I’ve bought more than just a handful of songs for Rocksmith. I also bought “DLC” for League of Legends, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Little Big Planet and more. But, I thoroughly enjoyed the “Old Hunters” DLC for Bloodborne with my FFXIV friends. Not to mention that i still have a stack of games for both the PS3 and PS4 (Heck, even the PC!) that i haven’t even touched yet.
But, when i see how far people would go to get that one specific mount or glamour piece… Well. It makes me feel “old”. (For a lack of a better description)
I can totally understand that there are people out there who put a great deal of importance to their appearance, but i also believe that you can go “too far” as well. We are still playing a game and while we use it to “escape reality”, we shouldn’t go overboard with it. Throwing money at everything we want, purely for the sake of having it.
I’m not a fan of the Cash shop. I don’t like it one bit. But, i did get the Platinum Wedding pack in order to “pull a prank” on my friends. You guys have probably seen the screenshots in this thread. It started out as a prank, but we had a lot of fun putting up that “show” and it was worth every single penny of it!
So, will i accept its existence? Well, yeah. Sure. It’s their money, so they’re the ones deciding on how to spend it. If they want to spend 25+ bucks on a mount, that’s their choice (as much as i dislike it being there in the first place).
In the end, i’m the one who determines if i want to spend money on vanity items or not.
I like harmless options like glamour/mounts.
I like convenience options like extra AH slots or bag spaces (esssentially, Retainers in this game, which I gladly pay).
I just think most of the stuff on mogstation overpriced, and it would make more business sense to me if they were charging less. If 1% of the people got the 20$ minfillia outfit + haircut, would they have sold it to 10% of the playerbase at 2$ instead? What iTunes have showed is that when you lower the price enough (0.99$ or less), it becomes "free" in the eyes of most people, and then they end up spending 50$+ frivolously.
The downsides to this is that you reduce the "rarity" of your goods (and thus their desirability for some player types) and you also create an alarm "They're trying to pull the wool over my eyes!" for people who are more savvy about these kind of business practice.
In a way, by having it expensive and rare, my impression is they're purposely making it a "collector's" item. They get the same amount of money as high-volume, low-price item but they limit their transactions and keep the special snowflake nature of the item for those with disposable income.
At least they have drawn the line and haven't offered XP boost, superior items or consumables on the mogstation. That would be where I draw the line.
I figured it was time to change my White Mage glamour to the more traditional look. I really like the Elegant Rimless Glasses with this outfit. What'd you guys think?
