Unsure if this is actually the issue, but a consistent influx of 90k errors over the last three weeks has me curious.

Occurs pretty much any time I log in these days (evenings and weekends pacific).

As you can see.. comcast treats it fairly decently at only 1ms per hop.. It reaches L3 which decides to play "cranky customs agent" and suddenly the packet drops occur.

Prognosis: Quite possibly a P2P throttling issue, since it only occurs playing FFXIV.

Symptoms: Random 90k messages during world exploration, or at a set 30 minute or 1 hour interval. Modem will disconnect from broadband service, and reconnect promptly. (Went through 4 different modems with my ISP, and 4 different technician visits over this problem. The likelihood of this being hardware/network defect would be beyond ridiculous.)

Has been happening the past few weeks, didn't ever happen any time before then.

Getting sick of having to pay for services like WTFast to bypass this gtt.net bull$!@#. Verizon says tinet-gw.customer.alter.net is customer equipment that they cannot troubleshoot, and that the customer would have to call in a support request. gtt.net won't troubleshoot since i'm not the customer. SE? Are you the customer? Call it in.

Game stops entirely for upwards of 10 seconds every 30 seconds or so. Last night it was during a coil run and my group was able to see my own actions as I was running around a stationary boss and party. I was even able to do some mechanics as they were called out despite nothing happening on my screen.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

I am having the exact same problem and using the same ISP. Players teleporting and lag while in combat/crafting.

I'm hoping it has something to do with this and will be resolved soon.

Trade during morning from Florida USA with Verizon Fios. Worse at night time. Called and got level 2 tech support, who blame everything on Alter.net, and say that it is on FFXIV.

When I explained that using a VPN like WTFAST resolves the issue, and Verizon is the one choosing to use alter.net, he told me Verizon has no control of this, and they will submit a ticket to FFXIV servers, as it is your fault....

I find it interesting that Verizon says they have no control over speed over any network outside of Verizon, but they blackmail Netflix for a better connection, and win.

Between 1:30-1:45am EST, today, I began receiving the Error 90000, and being booted out of the game entirely. I have been lagging profusely, with it getting progressively worse (I thought it was my connection) for a few patches, and lagging even more dreadfully for the last 4-5 days, especially between 8pm and 2am. I usually log off around 3 or 4am. I haven't had much time to play any earlier than that, so I can't say if the lag is there earlier. The lag has been almost intolerable at times, and there is no evidence of any disruption or throttling with regards to any other device in the house. I play on PS3. I repeat, just to be clear, that during the times where the lag is the worst, that I have tested other devices doing multiple things, and the internet and programs that use it run perfectly fine. This means internet tv, multiple smart phones, my 3ds, pcs, everything. The only time I am having a problem with lag, is playing FFXIV. I have no way to test the lag on a pc, as I am not using my own (it is inadequate to run XIV.). Please look into this, as I can barely run dungeons, craft, hunt...do pretty much ANYTHING.
