Buy 99, use 1, sell 98. need to sell them below the original purchasing price plus get charged city tax.. >_<
please allow us to break the stack.
I would like to be able to post a stack with multiple price points. If someone buys:
1: 100gil
2 - 10: 90gil
11 - 20: 80gil
etc.
And then I'd like to be able to replenish the stack as needed without being forced to re-post the listing.
As both a buyer and a seller I would be vehemently against being able to buy singles from a stack. The only way to cater for both would be a system such as devised by reckless76 (see above). Even though I do not fully agree with this it could be a start of a solution for those with gorse in their pockets.
Basically as people have indicated, if you list a stack you want to sell a stack not 1980 singles (based on 20 stacks of 99 items). Yes it sucks if you only need one item but this sort of transaction helps drive the in-game economy and makes money for the gathers listing the item. Before the naysayers begin suggesting begin suggesting otherwise the cold hard reality is if you don't want to pay for it then don't buy it.
Completely against. It would homogenize the market.
Either buy in bulk and get a discount (1000 fire shards @ 18 gil each) or buy what you need (25 fire shards @ 40 gil each). The current system is fine and should not be changed. Those people who raise the price on smaller stacks are doing it at the "price" of retainer space, which is precious.
I think that if someone is selling a full stack of 99 then thats how it has to be sold as a stack..but anything less then that can be bought as many or few as the purchaser needs.
I don't see any problem with allowing the seller to choose the method when they put something up. Have a checkbox that says sell this item in a stack. Either check it to sell only in a stack, or uncheck it to allow players to buy however many they want from it. Everyone gets what they want.
In the item listings when browsing, stacks that can be individually purchased from can have an icon next to them or something so it's easy to see at a glance which are full stack and which are individual. (Or put the icon next to full stack only, whichever)
Think about when you go into a supermarket. You can either buy a 16oz of soda for $1.25 or a 2Liter (about 66oz) for $1.75. You don't open up the 2L, pour out your 16oz and put back the remainder.
And you can't go buy shiny magical materia at your local supermarket either. Game is not based on reality, neither do all it's systems need to be.
+1 to buy single items from stacks on the Boards in game
