I put him back in the stable and fed him again. 3hrs to go. For the above I fed his fat butt probably way too many berries.. 20-30, 7 pears, 7 apples all in one 6hr period.. I also had the feather msg every single time.

There's some sort of variable that isn't being accounted for, for sure. A fellow FC member had her bird change to millioncorn yellow after 3 apples. She also did note the message "new feathers begin to grow". Somebody else fed the same amount, but didn't get the message, and had no change of color. That either has something to do with possible RNG, or something is affecting it.

Thank god someone reported this. I stated this a couple of pages back, but it seems it went over many people's heads. It's gonna turn out that it's not the number of feeds, but how many times this message pops up.

I'm testing something and will find out in 30 mins or so. I fed my choco 3 pineapples and got the feather message, after 6 hours it was honey yellow so I kept feeding more pineapples (up to 23 atm) and didn't get a single feather message. I guess you would only get message in the transition of changing from one color to another, like from yellow to whatever (because we all start as desert yellow), but you might not get messages changing the different tones of the same color. I'll figure out soon if my choco changes color or not after a 2nd time feeding 20 more pineapples xD

Hey, 6 hours just came up. Ended up with cork brown doing that. Did you get "beginning to grow new feathers" for all 6 items? I'm trying to figure out what happened differently.

So I'm not sure if I'm missing something or if there's a glitch. Earlier today my chocobo was colibri pink, then I put him back in stable and fed around 30 other fruit. The 6 hours finished and I didn't get a cutscene with him. Took him out and he's the exact same colour. He wasn't disturbed any time during that time. Is this a glitch or can he only change colour so much before reset? =/
