That's what happens normally when someone steps on a Twister near you. The person who actually steps on it is blown up and dies; everyone close to them gets blown outwards.

Yeah that phase is crazy for progression/clear parties since people tend to panic for Twisters, but they usually have the decency to die on their own :P
A similar blow-back effect happens in T13 if you are standing too close to someone with a detonating Tempest Wing tether. I'm reminded of T5 if a tank misses grabbing the tether lol.
;-; *mewls pitifully*
Yeah, I've already admitted to getting bish slapped by twisters - I'm normally willing to take ownership of my mistakes and weaknesses ---- but I was sure I've been and seen others tossed up by someone else stepping on a nearby twister, before o_Oa - Or maybe we/they just both registered as being too close to it/stepping on it (not consequential of just one being too close) and I misinterpreted what happened. Ah well z.z
*Sends self to the corner for derping twisters at this point, anyway*
Crystal Tower… extra special times
ST
At Glasya at the part before the jump pads while he has reflect up the dps had a severe tunnel vision and kept attacking as me and my cohealer watch their hp bars dropping fast -.- making us have to work extra hard
WoD
I finally decided to give this a shot on heals…. I couldn’t have picked a better run than this to break me in  .
Angra … prolly don’t need to say more huh… no one kept him still and was eye beam blasting everyone in all directions as he spun around the arena, made me think of this www.youtube.com/watch?v=s62msrPjSVY , causing me to always be on the wrong side of double vision most of the time -.- . I also found an important lesson dodging mortal gaze while healing is tougher than watching for it on dps ( I main BLM and I am always able to dodge it with focus target on). I did have focus target on but with Angra running rampant I had to watch hp bars more and took a few gazes (thankfully I was able to get to the cleanse platforms in time)
Five Headed dragon someone has the bright idea to early pull which brings him to the arena entrance and cleaves a good chunk of the alliances. Also about 7 people got locked out since people were still en route from the Xandes trash mob..
Ceberus nothing too bad just learned that wolfs bane poison doesn’t play around…
Yeeeaaahhh, we selected a fine time to break you in...
After 5-headed, I couldn't concentrate -.-
We were in the same party, so I can confirm the desk-face slamming of that run... I've been in some bad WoDerp runs, but this was extra special... It had everythign a WoDerp could ask for. Spinning, early DPS pulls, constant aggro loss, slow DPS, mechanic ignoring, aggro fights, death toll count of about a million (I think I raised one of the alliance's healers about a dozen times), Angra wipe, 5 headed wipe, near second wipe for both... and an extra special toss-in of an aggro battle of two tanks in......... Atomos. o_oa?? (I think they were angry about the aggro battle at Angra, at our tank... x.x *just steps back and lets them silently duke it out >_>* Not like that would cause a problem at Atomos, just still strange)
Amazingly, CoD had no real hitch - other than tanks fighting for her aggro, but that isn't anywhere near as much of a prob. It eerily lacked any -real- problems at all... not even a cloud phase problem o___oa *Confused*
Angra, we wiped - tanks were fighting over Aggro in the front (I even saw this till one finally relented to the side) - but then angrah spun sideways, effectively pew-pewing into the crowd and messing up the doublevision location... then another tank tries to grab hate and move him again... but then he's got Angrah pew-pewing into the time piece that the DPS are taking down.... I got pew-pewed in the face in mid-spin... some people didn't move out of Angrah's flare circles a few times, resulting in a few deaths o_Oa One of the flares took I think three people at once - the bound person, a DPS still on Angra and a third if I remember correctly... (might have been just two). Everyone's debuffs were all messed up.
I'm usually good about Mortal Gaze while healing, but found myself forgetting to turn away a few times in desperate healing in the second attempt, myself.
I've never had to duke it out with Cure II vs healing debuff so bad as in the 5 headed dragon....Cure II with Divine Seal was doing 600s on the tank.... I don't remember that happening in other runs, and never that bad even from Twintania >.> Ended up having to leave party healing to Oly at that point just to keep the MT from death (seemed like I was the only one curing at that point o_O started to wonder if people were purposely hoping the tank would die o_o).
Also, lack of shield oath. I think we all know what that leads to. 5-headed was extra fun, that way... *Twitch* Long ranged DPS pulled initially.... then kept pulling aggro off the MT. MT apparently didn't have shield oath on for the majority of that.... it got passed from tank to tank... but I guess near the end he did - or at least enough to hold it at the end.
Cerb... like Oly said, nothing too much happened, except I was a little out of it by then. I guess I get raider's fatigue a little to easily.
All in all, that run was just a rain of chaos and a million deaths. I don't think I've tossed out that many raises between my party and alliances (which I found myself supporting, too x.x which I probably shouldn't have at the extent that I did) in a single run, before...
My comm went straight to our bard */grovel for all the ballads played*
Ran into a similar situation where the tanks couldn't decide who was main with Angrah and kept spinning him around. When we got to the 5-headed dragon none of the tanks would move despite all buffs being up and everyone present so a DRG did a spear throw to start the fight. We did clear all of WoD but it was a challenge.
Did a Cutter's Cry run for the Chimera card. Biggest waste of 30 minutes ever spent. Tank would never lead any pulls with Flash, which forced me to heal her knowing that the unprovoked mobs would fly towards me. Said tank would also not spam Flash and would only attack one mob at a time unless hate was yanked. Chimera itself was painful to the point that I thought i was in the Crystal Tower. Tank pulled before I could even explain the mechanics. Our BLM and DRG died to the AOEs and died every time I rezzed them. The tank would NEVER run out of the way whenever the Chimera's eyes turned blue. We eventually wiped and managed to do better next round because I was able to tell them how to do the fight.
Then the tank begged for commendations for her mount. I was thinking "Oh hell no! You didn't earn it!", and I passed my commendation to the BLM who at least put the trash mobs to sleep. The entire party gave me commendations though, but no card dropped -_-
Did KoL run earlier today.
First mob pull, Tank WAR did his rotation, wondering why I cant heal him quickly, and his HP dropping like crazy. Threw Bene, and all CDs.
Check battle log...
He forgot his defiance *facepalm* obvious wipe...
Retry..
Tank did his rotation, HP went steadily down now....Cast cure II on tank, instant aggro o_O
wipe again because all mob run focused on me.
Tank started to blame me because not healing fast enough...
I don't know what to say ( I even thought it was my fault)
Nevertheless the run went well (I guess?)
Curious, tried running again with another WAR , no aggro for all pulls O>O
Okay....so obviously previous tank missing something in his rotation.
First time ever I beat WAR's aggro during pulls :/
a few days ago i went card farming in Thornmarch on my WHM and had a completely new group without any experience it seemed.
both tanks just started the fight without enabling shield outh / defiance, without ready check, and ofc without asking for explanation or anything (or at least setting MT for that matter).
and even better: the SCH tried to heal in cleric stance all the time... *facepalm*
it took forever to even get the boss to show up, the aoe he did when appearing almost killed half the party (wtf) and nobody knew what to do (is it really that hard to watch a guide beforehand? -.-) so this was going to be fun.
well, it took me one heal to get all adds aggro after boss showed up and nobody cared. was just a matter of time until the adds focused me down and we wiped.
after the wipe one of the tanks said "well that wasnt so bad" and i just left. i almost never leave a duty even if things get really bad, but that was just too much
Ha, I actually had a rare rage quit on Thornmarch HM last week because what's such an easy primal is getting derped over time after time. Last time I marked and said marks were for second phase kill order and to kill in order they show up in first phase. Which ones need to be tanked to a wall... not to attack King before four dead. And so ppl went full on spaz attacking random things including the boss while big AOE damage kept coming in. At one point everyone in the party was less than 25% and WHM was in cleric stance I'm like WTF we're dying here?
It wiped, someone complained about no one giving them instructions on how to do it, so I decided it was worthwhile making that my monthly rage quit.
Ugh.... any time I see someone beg for a comm, I just won't. It shouldn't be an expectation or based on class or even begged for...
It was a long time ago, but the last time I saw a comm begger from DF, the guy had /slap'd me in the beginning over something unimportant with a not-at-all hard content (asked if I had TS, which I didn't because I had no reason to use it before and I'd beaten that content ages ago... it was just nerfed T2. I've DFed that without TS without incident before that) - then they begged for comms at the end.
Oh heeellll no. I wanted to say, 'You want commendations? I re'commend' you don't /slap people and ask for handouts.'
Me and my friend once got a Tank in Snowcloack that would do nothing but Rage of Halone... over, and over, and over, and over, and, over, and, over again
=___=
Every time I remember that, my ears tingle, ring, burst and bleed... *holding ears*
Also, as expected we wiped once at the beginning, and for some reason this guy didnt release to res at the starting line... which was like 15 yalms away... when he accepted the res from my friend, they burned ALL cooldowns... to nothing... thats right, all of them, one per second, there goes Rampage, there goes Foresight, and then the other def cooldown, and another, and another... yup... and the enemies? Over there, playing cards and poking their thumbs...
It has been my second... if not first time I ever quit a run...
That's almost certainly a bot. The trademark if bots is that they minmax "aliveness" over "correctness", eg the healer that only casts Medica II, the tank's and DPS that only cast AOE's, even when there is only one monster. Bots don't actually know how to move, they have to follow fixed coordinates.
This one time, this co-healer I thought was a bot in Labyrinth, I kept canceling their Medica II casts, eventually they started talking in the party chat in broken english. I suspected them of being a bot because every time they were moving, they were "teleporting" from my POV while nobody else was.

The fact that every fight wiped the alliances at least once, wasn't helping. This guy... was casting Medica II before the fight starts.
So Monday, aka the day before reset aka the worst possible day to run any 24 man content, I was healing for some friends in WoD.
This was one of the uglier runs I have been in.
Lets give you the cast of characters:
The Dragoon. Who ws such a floor tanking stereotype it was painful.
The other DPS who were doing less damage than you could believe.
The Tank, who was solidly decent, but seemed to like AOEs.
My alliance wiped once on it's own and came to a near wipe several times. And in fact it got down to me and one DPS at least twice. Lots of panicked healing and raising and I managed to get everyone up and fighting again.
The other alliances also thought it would be a good idea to ignore mechanic on the cloud. So it was a true trial overall.
The worst part of the whole thing after all that healing and running around and keeping everyone up....
0 Commendations.
Yikes, CT debauchery is always abound. Last night I was saddled with a tank really struggling with enmity in Stone Vigil (in progress, should have known!). Things were mess, Aevis' and Ice Sprites giving me hugs and all that, but we powered through. Got to Isgebind, where DPS were consistently cleaved with Frost Breath (ouch) and the tank ended up dying to one of the floor AoE's. Tanking fell to me, though I was able to Shroud it off once it came off CD. Rezzed the tank, who never 'voked the boss back, the melee LB'd and we made it through. At least for all my troubles I got 3 commends.
World of Darkness... Second Boss (Five-Headed Dragon) ...
~ People didn't switched Targets when they got targeted by Fire Adds. (Curse you, Ressurection costs 800 MP each time!)
~ Run into the Player who gets sneezed (Oh ya, I believe I can flyyyyyyyyy...) - (Mass Spamming Succor oh yay <_<)
~ Not killing Slimes or the Adds at all = Silenced (The Horror for every Healer here, being unable to cast and just standing there, watching every Player getting killed...)
~ ALWAYS, ALWAYS the goddayum same People who get killed during Heatwave... I refuse to revive them simply because they have some heavy sort of ADHS ...
Last Thing, stack together when the Boss readies his Ultimative Attack after the Heads are killed. I'm not casting Sacred Soil for myself alone Q_Q
TL : DR :
World of Darkness is the Horror of every Healer, every Boss has its own "HEALER?!LOLROFLKKTHXBAI" moment and it's always the same Situation ... always.
Get into a Garuda HM helping an FC mate get a relic. The healers and tanks are all FC members we only pugged the 4 dps which were 2 bards and 2 black mages. Ask if anyone is first time and needs tips/pointers/explanations. Get some snide comment from a dps about 'they will figure it out'.
That dps totes ends up being the first one dying of course, and getting the pillars hit with friction. No one went for plumes either. So much of it was like, everything dps is NOT supposed to do on this fight.
One of our FC tanks had some trouble with sisters the like, two times we ever even got to that phase.... but overall, everything felt very....sloooooow. And I had to keep ressing people, chewing trough my mana. Then I start looking a bit closer at the party list- two damned bards and two black mages right? Neither bard was using foe's for the black mages or mage ballad after I and my healing partner were oom from ressing their asses. Sitting there full mp.
We wiped several times. Someone vote abandon. I had to reassure my tank that it wasn't really him screwing up, poor guy had a huge confidence loss. We requeue and then get a competent group of dps and oneshot her.
I was running a Garuda EX farm the other day in attempt to get Nightmare. It was solo tank, solo heal, burn strat, so I had set the ilevel to i115 expecting 6 DPS to, you know, be able to push Garuda fairly easily.
We were failing to meet this set DPS check consistently, so I started by popping Presence of Mind and Stone II-ing Garuda for 15 seconds while the Spiny was up. We were meeting the DPS check more often, but we still would fail it fairly often.
The tank started flipping out at everyone saying that in the 15 seconds I DPSed was bringing my total DPS numbers for the whole fight up into 2nd or 3rd place every single run. Apparently a lot of our DPS were doing below 175 in i115 in a burn farm party.
After 5 hours of putting up with people not being able to DPS enough and not seeing Nightmare drop once, I decided to end the farm party and I plan on never doing that ever again. -.-"
Was doing Guildhests today on my SCH.
Got the first one you ever get, the level 10 one. Have one cross class ability. On my SCH that ability is Cleric. Eos/Selene can easily solo heal the dungeons up to Haukke (but only the first two have me missing Protect as a SCH). However, having a 3rd DPS from my Cleric is more than noticeable. So Protect < Cleric on SCH. Not even a big deal. It's not like it even has +Magic Def right now anyway.
Punk ass Bard decides to tell me that I clearly don't know how to play healer.
Not the first time that this has happened, it's actually the 3rd day in a row I've heard this crap from a random DPS, usually one who doesn't even have CNJ or ACN past level 15.
Decided to ask all of the t13/savage coil Scholars I know to get their opinion. They all tell me the same thing; Cleric Stance always.
Ignorant DPS make me angry. >.>
He doesn't know you can totally DPS the hell out of Monsters if you just decide to use Drain --> Ruin II --> Drain --> Ruin II --> Drain --> Ruin II when the Aetherflow Buff is available again.
Critical Energy Drains hurt a lot ... I hit around 700-800 each Crit I do with that in Cleric Stance.
Did Titan HM today (Cleared Ex anyway but not doing it again ... <_<***) with all my Macros available (Party Chat is basically getting spammed by me).
Got blamed why I used Succor before Titan lands after jumping to his next Phases by a BLM ... guess what? It ain't my fault that Guy is on the opposite Side of the Field while 6 People including me are stacked together in Sacred Soil followed with Succor.
BLM is too far away and runs opposite way --> Doesn't get hit by Succor --> No Damage mitigation --> Panflake ...
Basically the only Guy in the Trial who does not read the Party Chat. All my Macros are suited for Titan and yet, whenever I casted a Macro'ed Sacred Soil with a Succor in it, the Guy simply does not stand in the Shield...
Syrcus Tower Horror ... (Weekly Quest)
WHM seriously blamed me on my Low Heals as a SCH. I highly doubt landing a 2.100 Critical hit with Adlo on the unbuffed Tank is considered low while that Guy just casted Regena to keep the Party up.
The best thing he did...blaming my AoE Eos Heal to hit lower then his Resedra. Unbuffed it hits around 280-300. His Resedra hits for around 150-200 (I highly doubt Divine Seal adds more to that...).
Let's combine Rouse and Illumination plus Whispering Dawn in a Macro... it looks like this :
/macroicon "Succor"
/pac "Fey Illumination" <me>
/ac "Succor" <me>
/wait 3
/ac "Rouse" <me>
/pac "Whispering Dawn" <me>
20% more Heal Increase by Fey Illumination adds much to Succor but wait... guy forgot ... I also use Rouse by this ... this is a total of 60% Heal Increase.
Suddenly my Heals were ticking around 480-520 each tick. This Guy just held his Hands during the entire Run (This Stuff happened at Scylla) and guess what, he also got killed by Amon 4 times even by Climax <_<*
Ran Copperbell HM a few days ago. Wiped 6 times (wasn't my fault!).
Tank liked to run ahead with sprint. DPS didn't remember the dungeon very well. And I sighed a lot.
4 of the wipes were on the first boss. DPS weren't killing the bombs. One of the wipes was partially the tank's fault (brought all mobs to end expecting the DPS to AoE them all despite them not AoEing at all before the boss. This was the third attempt as well). Finally get past that part.
Running to second boss, we break the boulder and whatnot. Tank proceeds to run ahead and wait at the boss room without killing any of the adds. DPS were attacking, but follow. I couldn't keep DPS up so they die, then I die, then tank dies (because didn't get the mobs off us).
Wipe on 2nd boss one time.
Fine up to final boss.
Final boss: no wipe, but one DPS wasted all the cyrstal rock things when the worm wasn't looking for fodder. Ended up spamming AoE heals for half the fight because of it. But we won at least.
ASDFGHJKL;'\
+Sastasha starts
+Pop Atherflow and Cleric
+Everyone is standing there
+Scoot up toward the bat, spin in circles
Tank: "Protect, SCH?"
Me: "I don't have it, it's my second cross class. I only have one in this dungeon, which is Cleric."
Random DPS: "Y u do dis mofo?"
Me: "Because Eos can easily solo heal this and its not needed at all and wouldn't you rather have an extra DPS? Trust me, it'll be okay."
Tank: "You're a healer, you should be healing first. You're stupid. I don't trust you to heal me."
Me: "I'm not going to be healing you, Eos is... the whole dungeon. Really, it's going to be fine. I've always done the first couple dungeons like this, you won't even notice."
+Long silence, no one moves.
+Is kicked
+Flips table
Thankfully, I've never been kicked or been mofo'ed at xD
Most of the times someone else could cast protect or didn't care too much :)
Been there, when I was leveling on SCH, too .3.
*Before-mentioned awkward silence where everyone sits and stares at the monsters*
Me: ...sorry, I don't have protect available on the cross-class :(
*everyone runs off*
Me: *can feel the weight of the mis-understanding, judging thoughts* T^T;
It bothered me to the point that I did switch Protect into the first slot, though :/
Easiest solution
Tell them you need 30 seconds to put Protect on slot #1
Put Protect on slot #1 - wait 30 seconds
Cast Protect
Put Cleric Stance back on Slot #1 and wait the 30 seconds - Eos can solo heal and you can still book smack during the initial pull
Put on Cleric Stance and become bad ass DPS #3 =DD
It seems silly, but it's a proactive way just to avoid any sort of drama and crap. Yes, it means nothing in the grand scheme of things, but it's 30 seconds out of your time to avoid any crazy frustration or grief.
Do people know that Proshell only gives about 6% damage reduction?
And on a SCH protect only reduces physical damage. Which IMO is pointless with adlo/succor/embrace/lustrate.
Unless you are doing end game raiding where every percent of damage reduction matters, there really is no reason to complain about not having protect.
Yesterday in CT1 came upon one of those so-called tanks you guys despise so much...
I can see why... geez...
I got in the CT1 by "joining duty in process" as a DPS so I didnt get to see the whole story of it, but it seems their DPS friend was kicked for some reason and they felt the need to be an ass and not tank at all... to the point that it earned a kick under the "afk" reason, just for him to join back in for self satisfaction and continue being an ass...
I just can't understand this kind of people... =-=a
I was in WoD yesterday on MNK. I WISH I was on healer
The healers in PT were laughing at other alliances. "Look at X alliance raid dying how bad are their healers." "lolz"
I said, "So why not instead of laughing at them - help revive them or heal them? You know like cross heal."
Both healers: "What's cross healing?"
Me: "Healing people that aren't in your alliance."
Them: "Why should I help heal them, they aren't in my group. If they have bad healers, maybe they shouldn't play the game."
Me thinking: "Why are you playing healer again?"
I hate dem stingy healers.
Sometimes you can save the life of another. Especially if MT is in another alliance.
i can't phantom how people from groups when I'm not on my healer are saying, "lolz they are wiping." Then why u not rez them?
I DON'T WANT TO WIPE SO I'LL REVIVE THEM.
Why can't they do the same.
BE COURTEOUS YO
It's not hard.
Gah.
I can't understand how people can leave a certain alliances healers dead for so long then mock them after. You are just a douche to me.
I can never play anything else but a healer I swear.
---
Another thing that pisses me off in WoD when I'm on MNK.
Sometimes people on accident go to wrong atamos, and people be like. They aren't in my alliance so I'm just gonna lol and watch them die.
I can't stand that shit. I just focus target and heal them. It's not hard.
i hate people who don't help people on healer.
It hurts my soul.
GAH.
But I'm stubborn and I don't want to entertain their stupidity and please their ignorance since they clearly don't know how the class works. :x
Surprisingly enough, new players never give me issues. It's always the "veteran" players, people with at least one level 50 who think they know everything.
Which is the lesser of two evils for you? Pleasing their stupidity or taking their drama in the face? XD That's the question only you can answer ;)
Also, say hi to Kall/ He and Mouku took me in to T9 Savage for giggles and it was "WTF *brain melts*" fun. lol. I'm surprised they even let me try >>; lol
My stubbornness will always win, lol. If I'm right I won't back down. XD
Yeah t9 savage was crazy. We got it down a couple days after that, I think. Definitely took us less time to get t6 and t9 savage down than it did to get t13 down, lol.Quote:

Whilst I don't have a horror story to tell yet, I'm pretty sure this thread is going to get very active with DRK-related stories reeeeeeal sooooon.
