We at least got representation in advertising. So there's that.
Advertising for Heavensturn on its website.
And if you notice, they always go for stuff that doesn't show the god-awful hunchback half the time Hrothgars are around.
They aren't in most screenshots. They aren't in any of the artwork.
They know very few people like it. A minority within a minority. They just haven't bothered to care.
With a little bit of luck, they might see the player feedback and in 7.0 we might get the option to make the Hunch a togglable button in the Aesthetician.
Eh, modders will deal with it. As they always have. Because Square can't do anything without modders, apparently.
Oh, I'm sorry, too harsh? Did I hurt anyone's feelings at Square for admitting modders are literally doing a better job than they are in their own project? Well, if they worked on it as they were supposed to, I wouldn't be saying this, so... tough.
Have there been any major issues with races like Argonian or Khajit in ESO?
Like, legit question here. I haven't played ESO. Have they ever had major features missing, poor customization, even poorer representation, features being removed for the sake of new ones existing, lack of community awareness from their devs when it comes to feedback on their races...?
Because I'm just going off of my experiences with Skyrim and Oblivion :p a fairer comparison is the MMO itself. Assuming it's even made by Bethesda to begin with, that is.
I don't know very much about ESO, but I did watch an extensive lore video about Khajit, half an hour in length. Their story is so detailed and interesting, it's insane! Far better than what Bozja and the 2 drunk scholars ever did for Hrothgar. It extended from their origin, leadership and clans to their fur markings and their significance! If I didn't know better I would have said they were a real race, just from how much history and lore we get on them. Kinda made me want to install ESO and try it myself, but sadly my wallet does not approve!
There are several hairstyles and accessories that Khajiit and Argonian can't use, but that's compared to scores that they can. A big matter of contention is the Khajiit breeds available to players. There is only one and players can't play the rest because the character models are too wonky. Which is true in some cases, but half of the breeds are very humanoid.
Both Khajit and Argonians have been playable since the first elder scrolls game (Arena), and have a ton of lore behind them. Viera and Hrothgar have nothing compared to them, it's not even close. THAT said, they know of the struggle to get appropriate armor/gear. I remember one game didn't even let you wear shoes lol. In eso, Argonians have hat issues as well, with the horns simply being hidden, but you CAN wear them.
Which is too bad, cause personally, I would have liked to get more personalised options of hairstyles for these races. But then again, I would like to be able to use all Hrothgar hairstyles regardless of the face that I am using. At the moment each face comes with 5, but realistically 3 hairstyles cause the other 2 are the normal ones with the addition of braids... :/
Honestly, I can't wait to see if Hrothgar get anything in 6.3, since they didn't show anything am staying pessimistic. And if they do, how would they look.
What Hairstyles are supposed to come next? The ones Viera got in 6.1 or 6.2?
Sadly, that's the likely reason, considering even adjusting the ears was too much. Guess that means the definite farewell to my hopes of one day getting that undercut tail :C

I'd like to think Hroths would be able to use that new short hairstyle at least, just like they could use the island ponytails like everybody else. Yeah, it looked silly on a Hyur because of the forehead but it may look good on a Hroth, only time will tell.
we dunno bc the new alliance gear hroth used a race style whereas the male viera used a "new" style that'll be available to viera. People ASSUME we're just getting 6.1 (based on nothing) but we SHOULD get 6.1 and 6.2 because being 2 patches behind hyur with silly ears no.7 is just an embarrassment to the design team.
Rejected for looking like a miqo? Wat. Then why even bother porting multi-race hairstyles to hroth? What, did the 2B hair not make us look too "middle-aged hyur female named Karen"? That's such a weird excuse oh my word.
Edit: Re-reading the post I replied to, I realized I'm not sure if they're referring to the hairstyles or just the overall appearance, so... /shrug
Half the stuff we have aren't leonine at all. Coeurl whiskers and horns, for example. Yet we allow for that. Cat-like stuff should be embraced if what we're going is generic Panthera.
It might have escaped their notice, but Panthera are felids. Many big cats look like house cats in the muzzle.
Meanwhile Miqo'te look nothing but humanoids with animal ears and that's it.
They wanted hroths to quickly identifiable as big cat inspired, with lions being the starting point. Of our 4 heads, 2 are clearly lion inspired, 1 is Coeurl inspired (coeurls are a big cat in universe), and the last is Ronso inspired. The miqote comment is tongue in cheek. That head was likely rejected for looking like a kitty, nothing deeper ^^;
I kinda just assumed it was because of the ears, since they were considerably pointier and closer to a Miqo'te's. Anyways, my comment was more about the hair than the rejected faces lol 3 of those hairstyles were recycled into the ones we currently have, except for the undercut tail, which is the one I liked the most :C
embrace werewolf ears, become jumbo catto
I unironically hate the werewolf ears in 14. I don't know why, something about them just... makes them yikes to me.

Wowzer, they didn't butcher the lion dads ears. I dunno about Saintly Style...
