I never said immediately, 5.11 to 5.55 is over a year. That's pretty casual.
but whatever.... keep farming the forums for likes and validation of your incorrect statements. :D

The Bozja story really just cements a) how little the devs care about hrothgar and b) how evil every non-au ra/viera/hroth race is.
Point A) no hrothgar gets to do anything besides be canon fodder in the story. We dont get to save Dabog, we DO save Lovro but hes still somehow tempered despite detempering taking 4 seconds any other time, Baj and Marsak more a naziass traitor instead of their fallen comrades.
Point B) not a single villain in Bozja (or anything having to do with Garlemald) is a non-Eorzean race. Plenty of Miqote, Lala, Roe, and Elves saw Garlemald round up civilians for hypertuning experiments and a "one race" philosophy and said "oh that sounds super!" but not one Au Ra or Viera works for Garleans and all the hrothgar who did were conscripts due to occupation of their homelands (Bajsaljens notes even state the national race of Bozja couldnt marry without Garlean gov. approval!) or were kidnapped and experimented on (Dabog).
I honestly think that the Hildebrand requirement is just to not break story threads. People tend to forget that Godbert is supposedly one of the best artisan in all of Eorzea and this method is a easy way to get weapon contest winners designs out without having to make similar thematic weapons for other classes.
But for the questline humor is highly subjective and is highly understandable why people are quick to be cautious of this line.
To me, this questline could go one of two ways.
One: the typical Hildebrand experience
Two: Syndicate route elaborating on the Syndicate role in new Ul'dah
You are correct, the Gold Saucer hired quite a few refugees, and pays them a good wage. Godbert's a very smart businessman and expert crafter, so it's very possible this relic questline could in fact be him crafting masterpieces with Gerolt to help with a charity...while also catching the eye of multiple weapon collectors who wouldn't be afraid to spend a pretty penny to get a hold of these weapons. Killing multiple birds with one stone.
Feel like people are missing the idea when they continue to make comparisons to Bozja and Eureka. Bozja requiring just one set of raids (that should have been done anyway) from one expansion that can be done unsynced is not the same as having to sit through older side content (that doesn't need to be done, unlike alliance raids) from each expansion leading up to this one. Not to mention half of the player base doesn't even like said side content.
To bring up my point from earlier, I'm pretty sure the dev team intentions when tying stuff like this together isn't: "just skip the cutscenes" but probably the opposite actually. This is their hardwork and dedication that we're talking about, it's kind of like shooting yourself in the foot. The argument of "just skip the cutscenes" doesn't work for players that wish to feel immersed in what they're doing and not waste their time on meaningless jokey stuff. Keyword there being: meaningless.
Jokes and casual time in the game after all the fighting is fine, that's not the complaint here. The complaint is that not only do we have to deal with a crappy side quest that half of the players don't like, we then have to build weapons centered around ANOTHER piece of content that half of the players don't like. Half of us don't go to the gold saucer/don't enjoy doing anything there. "Cool characters" and "master goldsmith" be damned, they're not important to the MSQ and never have been. Why should I care about them?
All of this is on top of the fact that we're probably not getting another expedition zone, even if not everyone likes it there's still people that do. The game is only growing and getting bigger so there should be 0 reason why we need to drop content (that plenty of people participate in, mind you) to add more. Criterion dungeons and all of that stuff is cool but I don't think it should warrant the need to drop expedition stuff. "They need to manage their resources" well I'm one of those people that think since they have the money there's no reason why it can't be done. Hire more ppl, do something. Us losing content as the game grows and not getting enough in return is simply just not right.
What content is being lost exactly? There is no tried n true rules that every expac needs an expedition zone, same as there's no rule saying every expac needs to have a deep dungeon. You can't exactly claim "there's no reason it can't be done" as you don't work there nor do you know about any of the inner workings. Ain't up to any of us to make that call.
Not important to the MSQ...you could completely bypass Eureka and Bozja and be perfectly fine in SB and ShB msqs so that logic makes zero sense. And if your logic is you don't care about characters outside of the msq then...why do you like Eureka and Bozja? Do you run alliance raids? Normal Raids? All of that isn't centric to the msq.
Half the player base doesn't like that quest line? Well guess what? The expedition lovers (myself included) have gotten zones for 2 expacs now. If we're going to be fair it seems to me like stepping away from that in EW is apt. Try something different from these last few years for those who may not like those zones. To many folks here are only thinking about "me me me me me". That's not how this works. And again I say this as someone who enjoys these zones.
Lastly what's meaningless varies by the person. Devs put alot of work into savage yet they know most of the plaerbase won't touch it same with ultimate. I'd say just skipping cutscenes does hold up here. Not every player is gonna be immersed in every piece of content dude. This take or you're is extremely self centered
