SE, Please increase primal drops or add Token System

Oh yeah? What if you've done it 100+ times even with fc members and have yet to even see your weapon drop? I've been the only whm many many times. Have capped myth on garuda alone this week and I still have yet to even see the wile....screw RNG. the lucky should get their weapons faster but the unlucky should atleast be able to get one with hard work after a while. This fight gets real old real fast and this kind of crap makes me feel like quitting the game sometimes :/

I think there's definitely something iffy about it. It took me 30 kills to get the Harpoon and I never once saw the MNK item drop during this.

Assuming an equal drop rate, there's an 8/9 chance you won't get your weapon per fight. So ~89% chance of not getting it first time, ok fair enough.
2 fights, 79%, 3, 70%.

30 fights, <3% chance of not seeing it by now. Which I could believe as a one off as just being very unlucky, but the number of DRGs complaining about it...hmmm.

It wouldn't be so bad... if the weapons weren't the initial step to be able to do harder content. If they we're the absolute last content to do, then yea ok. but since they are part of progressive content. it really sucks, not being able to get it in a reasonable frame.

I play both SUM and SCH (i like to play DPS, but role healer for FC groups when needed). I have only seen a SCH weapon drop, too bad i was on my SUM, still didn't get even though there were no SCH in the group, which sucked.

One thing that would be nice, is if the need system had a slight adjustment. You can need a weapon that you don't already have, if you are playing the class that uses it. And if that class isn't in that instance run, then those who have the class at lvl can roll need. Though this is more to alleviate the issue for those who play multiple jobs.

While having been on the lucky side I do have to agree with this. I got my Ifrit Harpoon on my first run and Garuda's Beak on second run respectively but for others who arnt as lucky not quite as fair.

This. I remember the PITA it was to get my lance on my V1 character. Took at least 100 kills before I managed that. I really don't want to live through that crap again.

well they should make the farming easier too mean so lame doing the instance AK or CM -...

No, because it's completely random (so random that the item generator doesn't even take into account party make up) you have the exact same percentage chance on your first go as you do on your 100th. Oh and let's not forget that with any role there's a chance you'll fail the *other* RNG even if the right weapon pops - having another player beat you on a "need" roll :/

There's no skill in getting a random drop after a few goes, and there's no "welfare" in making sure people don't have to fight Primals (successfully) 50+ times just to get something that could have dropped in 3.

To people who have this viewpoint, I again present my argument:

Let's make EVERYTHING rng. Not just the primal weapons.

Let's make darklight rng again.

Let's make relic weapons rng based.

Let's go even further, let's make access to dungeons rng. Want to do Amdapor Keep? Roll for it, oh, you didn't get access? Too bad, no welfare dungeon runs for you. Work harder. Maybe have your free company help? What's that, your free company helping you doesn't affect rng? Oh, too bad, I seem to always get in, in fact, I've done dungeon runs I didn't need just for fun since the rng seems to always go my way.

Let's make xp rng. You fought 75 mobs so far, but none of them gave you xp?? Well, too bad, no welfare xp for you.

Do you see the flaw in your thinking? RNG is RNG, it's random. No amount of skill, work, effort, anything will affect it. You could run the primals constantly, all day long, every day, for weeks, months, years, and it's still possible that the weapon you want would NEVER drop.

Those of us suggesting a token system do NOT want the weapons handed to us for nothing. Though, ironically, some people who get carried through the fights ARE handed their weapons for nothing. We want a token system that ensures we do work for it, but that we don't get entirely left out. It's not easy mode, it's not free weapons, it's just the same as the token system for Darklight that no one seems to have a problem with.

Ive done near 50-60 garuda runs on my main account for pld, have not ONCE seen the sword even DROP, Let alone lose the bid to another pld. Not, one, drop.
Im skipping garuda and going to titan, I have 3 lvl 90 pieces for christ sakes and not even a hint of that dumb sword showing face.
Token system, seriously bring it.

Somehow i get the feeling they done that on purpose!
I mean: There must be a reason why they dont give tokens any more, even when desperately adding them on 1.x before...
Ok that may be just a guess, but at this time i am looking forward to see gold saucer.
But If so, why dont they allow us to accumulate the currency ahead of time?
Or I just wish/hope that Square Enix know what they do and just have not released the solution.

0/74 on Ifrit Sword.... Frustrating but ill keep going until i get it. The currency reward is a bonus though so even though youre doing it a 100 times you're slowly getting DL gear :P

Whilst I haven't started Primal HM fights yet, this issue concerns me. I don't want to do fights over 50/100 times just for a chance at progression, but I don't want to trivialize the fight so everyone gets a weapon fast and no one bothers anymore. There has to be a happy medium.

My own suggestion: Have a separate token system for each of the HM primals. Each fight, you gain 1 Ifrit/Garuda/Titan token. Once you reach 10 or 20 tokens, you can trade them in at the end of a fight for a primal weapon.

However, we still keep the 1 random weapon drop per kill as it is. The addition is that if you want the random weapon, (say, your job weapon drops), you forfeit all the relevant primal tokens you gathered if you win the roll on the item. Resetting the tokens after obtaining a weapon will make sure that people still come back for primal fights for later weapons.

There, problem solved. you still have the chance of getting your weapon early, but you will definately have it eventually.

I've already given up hope on Ifrit's Sword and just moved on to do Garuda. I just hope I have better luck with her than with the book-dropping burning son of b.....

I fully support the token idea.
