Sell Fantasia on the Mogstation

If you don't think those potions and a dozen or so exclusive minions won't show up as a "testing the waters" cash shop within a year, you are cray cray.

I'm honestly surpised they don't have plans for such a service. Even the king of MMOs, Wow, offers 3 versions of character redos (one just changes your appearance/gender, one lets you pick from you own faction, and the other let's you switch factions)

You don't need "testing" to implement a cash shop, Square is already aware that players don't want a pay2win model... especially if they intend to keep the subscription model in place. It simply won't happen, it would kill the game entirely.

Paying for servers transfers, re-customization and name changing is perfectly fine.

Welp. Seems like we're most likely gonna have to wait until we get our veteran rewards for fantasia.

This seems to be a service they would add later.
At least a month or two AFTER people have received (any probably) used their phials.
It'd be nice to have it sooner, but we probably won't see it till after patch 2.1.

They did say they'd be adding in more services to the mog-station, this is clearly something they'll add to it.

They haven't explicitly said "we're doing it" but as I said above, they were going to add more account based services, aside from server transfers. A few minions probably and Phials of Fantasia are a clear choice.

I hope they add this, since I was silly and decided to use my second one and change from a lalafell to a roegaden.. and I regreat it. Faaaaaaar to big for me.

But I don't see how this would be a "OH GOD A PAY TO WIN" mechanic. Games have race change options, this one needs one too. And they just so happened to make it an item in game that we use, then log out/do it. So its not a huge deal, I don't get how people can flip out over it.

How about free Fantasia with Server Transfer.

Then if you really want to pay for it you can.

I hope they add a way to make fantasia re useable. Free or some kind of grind in game preferred. Once is not good enough since the functionality is there already... and long cool downs is fine too.

But not all of us want to transfer servers, we just want an appearance change.
That would mean we'd need two server transfers just to change appearance?

Even just a firm 'no', or a 'this is in the works, but it won't be ready until the new race is added' would be fine.

I would very much like to have SOME option of being able to get more Fantasia. I am terribly indecisive when it comes to deciding on races/classes in MMOs to a point of never reaching end game because I'm always changing characters. That has changed a bit here with FFXIV due to having access to all classes on one character, but as a 1.0 player I have already had 2 Fantasia's and used them... and still wish to change races once again. Leveling up another character in this game is extremely unappealing due to having so much accomplished on one character and quite frankly not wanting to do it all over again.

Must be some OCD or something. Anyways... I would really like to see this as an option. Be it for cash or in game gil to be bought at the barber shop or whatever it may be. I would just really appreciate the option.

I'd love to have it available on the Mogstation. I'd be happy just knowing the option is there. I'll stick with my character even if I'd prefer a change, my only concern would be if they released a new race and it just so happens to be one a really, really want to play as.

Same issue, it took 3 tries for me to figure out what I wanted, and now i'm stuck.

I'll give this thread a bump too~ I really would like the feature. I'm a tad indecisive too.

I want to see this happen. As well as a name change thing added. The Fantasia is half useless without a way to change your name as well.

Why wouldn't it be in the works? Easy money for them while they have a big base of players. Longer they wait, the more they're missing out.

I definitely support this, and bump. :)

I don't see anything wrong with charging people to change their appearance. Many games do it.

The only time cash shops become a problem is when they start offering advantages, such as equipment or power boosts. There is no advantage to be gained from changing how your character looks.

I have no doubt they will, but apparently they've hired 3D artists who specialise in Anthropomorphic Humans, now pending that's correct it would confirm that a new race IS definitely coming for the first expansion like they intended.
We have no idea what they'll pick. But if its anthropomorphic that means it could be a Bermucian, Ronso, Viera or something of the like being made.

Gonna try and keep this thread bumped... It is probably the number one thing I want to see happen.

Make Fantasia Veteran Reward every 3 months. People get 1 the first month then every 3 months they get another. Everyone happy!

They will have people race change like crazy, regardless. In 4-5 months, people will get tired of their current toons and be sooo excited to buy it. Like I said, it's a month into it and I already can't wait to change my character. They're just keeping money out of their own pockets right now.

Things that are ok in a cash shop:

Character Remodel
Server Transfer

Things that are not ok:
Everything else.

I'd buy one, I liked my character at the start but over the past month i've found some things i'd like to change

Same. It get's to a point where I'm not that interested in logging in because I'd rather be playing a different race, and starting over is unappealing after all the things I have done on one character. Quite the conundrum.

I would probably use it quite a bit.
I really like the Hyur Highlander Female I chose, she's just so bad ass lady this time (the only ones above are the Rogaedyn females but I really don't like their nose features) but I wouldn't mind mixing it up from time to time.

The main reason I switched from the male characters is they feel to... androgynous, not in the sense that they look effeminate (at least for miqote male, hyur midlander male) but because they look very... lacking in the nether-regions (most visible while in their underwear), just disturbing, strange, somewhat... I guess I'm over-thinking stuff, but still.

Anyway, I'd switch back and forth without worry, I like the option to be there.

WoW now also sells exp packs and stuff like that which to me is beyond wrong. People thought, when they first started selling that first star horse that it was a slippery slope, and look at it now. These are terrible things, IMO.

As for the topic at hand, I don't think this should be sold on Mogstation, however if SE wanted to offer a character change for a fee, then that's fine. But these potions, as in game items? NO.

The items are untradable/unsellable. They have no use for anyone other than the original owner so both those options are pretty much the exact same thing.

first, I can not wait for the barber shop, (great idea btw) I think this Fantasia as a paid service (not cash shop) is a great idea. paying for something that in absolutely no way affects game play of anyone, seems like a harmless way to spend money. I can understand someone not wanting to spend more then their subscription fee to obtain this, and in that regard, an earlier post i read had a great idea as well. They said to make this a reoccuring veteran reward for subscribtions. So, what if, hear me out, you can get a free bottle of fantasia, every 6 months. so you can change your character for free, twice a year. IF you choose to change again, you can do so by purchasing the item, as you would for a server transfer.

As far as "name changing." I have trouble supporting that, but can understand situations that would make sense to do. but for pure cosmetic purposes, changing your race seems like something that should be something able to be bought, or free if SE is generous.
