LGBT Linkshell and Free Company Directory

I am hopefully trying to start a Linkshell on Diabolos server for the sake of chatting within the LGBT+ community. I did not seeing anything that was -only- Linkshell and didn't include Free Company too.

So here we go~

might want to add Pants in the Faerie server. Pretty close knit gaymers with some allies on board. About 35 members right now and going.

I will note, since it's not listed anywhere, Tonberry Knights has expanded, we now run two linkshells: The Honeybee Inn. This is our adults only LS with open membership. And the Tonberry Knights of the Round, which is dedicated to endgame and you must apply on our site.

there are many immature people that use homophobic slurs as standard everyday speech. some of us do not want to be disparaged in this way. Also, some of us would like to be able to talk about our lives like every other person does and not have to deal with people's judgements. so rather than force people to accept us who don't, why not just associate with people who are not going to disparage each other. so what server do you suppose has the biggest gay population? I have read Gilgamesh a few times, but nothing really jumps out...all i know is the Faerie server was a huge let down...i figured all the gays would be here lol With the free server transfer window coming, I wanted to get some feedback...im looking for a bigger guild, as opposed to 10 people with 3 on at a time lol, that plans to do raid/pvp but isn't all uptight :) ...im Eastern Standard Time and play nights and weekends

Here is a great explanation as to why it is important to allow LGBT FCs and groups in and outside of the game. Exchange 'white power' with 'straight' and 'black power' with 'LGBT'. You'll then understand this thread and these FCs.

I recently inherited a Free Company as all of the original members changed servers and left me all alone. :( As I did not see an existing LGBT/LGBT-friendly FC listed for the Lamia server (unless I'm just blind), I would like to volunteer mine. I'm not particularly fond of the name, but I suppose it doesn't matter much.

It doesn't have to be LGBT-specific per se, but I am gay and want to be around people who are gay-friendly.

Zodiac Braves is currently a Rank 5 company. I intend it to be a casual, safe zone for LGBT and/or gay-friendly players who want to have fun and enjoy the game in all of its aspects.

Hello! Married Norwegian gay couple are looking for a new home server and FC. We just moved from Kujata to Diabolos, and we are not too happy about the change. The server is too crowded with too many silly characters dominating the shout chat.

A JP server would be preferred (as these seem to be more international)

Otherwise any non-congested server is welcome, as long as there is a gay FC who will have us.

He is a lvl 30 BLM and I am a level 30PLD and 35BRD. He is new to MMOs and require some patience, while I am a FFXI veteran. Let me know if you have a home for us.:D

The whole concept of "Any LGBT friendly FCs in x server?" is inherently hostile because it assumes, by default, FCs will not be friendly toward you.

What does your sexual orientation have to do with the game? Whats wrong with normal guilds? Why do you only wish to play with people who are also gay? This kind of segregation can only be detrimental to the community as a whole.

I think it's a fair question. Do you allow your members to throw around the term f*g? Make insults using "That's gay"? Because plenty would, and many LGBT players would see that as an inherently hostile environment. Rather than join and commit time to that kind of situation, they'd rather avoid it entirely.

I feel like that makes sense. It's not necessarily about joining an all LGBT guild as much as it is avoiding the hostile ones, when possible.

I do agree in a fashion (that any kind of segregation is bad) but the fact that people feel like they need a gay-friendly LS speaks volumes about the members' experience in the game and elsewhere. To quote Macklemore: 'have you read the YouTube comments lately?'

In an ideal world, I'm sure we'd all be in the same LS.

Why does *anyone* make a FC based on commonalities? Maybe because it's nice to talk to people you can relate to, who understand your background better, and so on.

LGBT guilds aren't here only to avoid hate speech. They're also here because some LGBT people have fun talking to other LGBT people.

I don't think any of the LGBT players are actively trying to diss straight players or avoid them. I find it baffling that so many detractors of this thread assume this. There's an Adventure Time-themed FC on my server, and no one's like "How dare they group up based on their commonality! What does Adventure Time have to do with the game? They're segregating themselves and ruining the community! Why are you insulting all the non-Adventure Time guilds??!"

That's how silly and nonsensical these constant criticisms of LGBT guilds sound. The classic "what does this have to do with the game" line is especially flawed. So we're ONLY allowed to talk about FFXIV and never about ourselves or our lives? WTF????

Players in LGBT guilds are glad to group up with straight players, and welcome them in their guilds. Like all players, we just want to have a fun time in this game and have a good social experience.

Maybe you're sincere with your questions and you just come from a place of genuine curiosity and inexperience. If so, then hopefully this answered your questions and no hard feelings.

But the only real reason people would be against LGBT guilds is because they have a bias against LGBT people.

Would anyone know which FC/LS is the most active on Hyperion. I have a friend with me and we might be looking for some people to join.

For the record this one has never seen the gaming community be hostile to gay and/or les. This one plays with players based on skill and common play times and could give a flying trout if someone is homo.

Fisherman's Horizon is based on Moogle and all events etc we do are on a GMT/+1 time frame :) We have a few NA members too, though the majority hail from the EU. You'd be more than welcome to join us if you wished to!

But that's not what I'm saying at all, and none of what you're saying is true:

Joining a group of people who I have stuff in common with does not mean I want to be "excluded" from the rest of FFXIV players.

The majority should accept me no matter what harmless group I join, no matter what harmless identity I have. The majority of players have more in common with me than they have differences. People shouldn't be bigoted pricks. Me being a part of minority group doesn't change any of that.

I don't segregate myself from non-LGBT players and neither does anyone in an LGBT FC. The group I'm most active in right now is a linkshell called the Learning Linkshell that has players of all identities who just want a place to ask game-related questions. I don't care what their identities are beyond the fact that they play FFXIV. I just like having conversations with them about FFXIV. I also don't care who I group with for dungeons and things as long as they're not jerks and they can play the game.


But what if I ever want to talk about any real-life stuff with a group of friends I meet in FFXIV; LGBT issues in society, my own personal anecdotes with dating, whatever, with people who I know will be more likely to understand where I'm coming from? Or what if I just want to meet cute people who share my interest in FFXIV and also share my sexual orientation? There's plenty of stories of online gamers who marry in-game or even form relationships in real life after playing online together. There is nothing wrong, separating, elitist about any of that. It's just creating a particular social group where people who have a certain thing in common can feel free to socialize and play together.

Nothing about joining an LGBT linkshell or FC excludes us from playing with other players. I haven't closed myself off from other players and I think straight FFXIV players are as awesome as LGBT ones. You're the one who keeps implying there's this big separation, but there really, truly is not.

Everyone likes to find people who they share something in common with. It doesn't mean that they are running away from or doing anything negative to people who don't have that one thing in common with them.

I have joined non-LGBT guilds many times. I enjoyed playing with them, and I know there's no real malice in their words.
