Not sure about you, but I'm not interested in gambling. Or on gmes, whatever they may be, but please do stop making my eyes bleed.
The game has already several visible and radical elements that differentiate it from wow (like the class system for instance). Ergo, your insinuations have no value or credibility.
PS: What the hell is a darkHAUND?
SE is definitely following the modern MMO in order to improve FFXIV ARR including listening to the fans/player base.
I like what I am seeing so far, and I trust Yoshi-P will deliver far into the future of FFXIV ARR. 2-4 years from now, ARR will have alot of contents and variety of things to do it's got a bright future ahead of them.
the job system came as a corrective measure to save FFXIV from the abyssal, souless and characterless state it once was.
The introduction of stances for warrior is very wow'sh for example. The actual stances themselves are clones of WAR stances from WoW.
That's just 1 example, there are MANY more.
Too bad that you forgot that in wow you can't play multiple classes on the same character, which is the essence of the armory system in Final Fantasy XIV, and a very radical difference between the two games.
Oh, and WoW didn't invent stances. You don't have a point.
Pointing at the difference of two things doesn't negate the similarities. Its not an absolute situation and I didn't say it was. On the contrary, the whole thread is about SE taking ques from Blizzard and moving towards their game mechanics, which they have actually stated in the past...
I never said stances came into existence with the introduction of WoW. However, SE most certainly did mimic the WAR that Wow Built and completely trashed their own take on what WAR should be in an MMO(FFXI).
FFXIV's jobs are closer to their WoW counterparts than they are to their FF-FFXI origins.
FF14 doesn't have a talent tree, I think that alone makes it stand apart from WoW quite a bit. The quest based leveling is a rather big similarity though, but I hope SE can vary the quests a little bit more than kill x and gather y. There's only so much you can do when you're making several hundred quests, but one can dream.
True, but many people seem like they're going to miss the traditional grind parties for some reason. It pretty much all boils down to the same thing anyway. Either go out and kill hundreds of the same monster to level up, or do quests that require you to kill x amount of things. I don't see why people have a preference of one over the other. The social aspect, or the lackthereof when questing, of it maybe?
I really don't see how this becomes a clone there really nothing alike at all now if you fuss is over UI and functions some things you can't get away from in any game really auto attack/button bashing etc for example every game has some form of these or combination of those. Also some things are for user friendly format making it easier for the players to use or adjust to there liking.
There playing other mmo games to see why there so popular so they can see what kind of things maybe they can bring to the table and maybe improve upon on there own game. Its the player assumption that there going just to copy something which sometimes that isn't a bad thing if their tailoring it to there game functions. To me it how they implement those functions to make it fun unique and story driving for that. Usually what hooks me is the first few hours of game play if design right it can keep players coming back no matter what functions or UI it might have.
Edited: Forgot to mention end game is important as well because allot of people plow threw mmo's like crazy and end up asking ummm what next then demanding content while everyone else is still catching up lol.
Hmm, we have the kill quests like you say
and we have /emote quests, escort quests, "bring me a specific item from a specific place. You need only to kill for self-defense" quests, "go to many places and talk to many NPC" quests, "craft/gather a specific item" quests, "a NPC got missing, go and save him/her" quests.
And some more.
God I hope its nothing like Fail Wars and WoW....please god make it not be like those two games please
WoW clone or not, there are modern aspects of MMO's that I find in poor taste and would prefer them not to be included in any title, let alone XIV
Things such as content finders operated within city walls, tiered equipment and raid progression, heavy focus on 'endgame', PvP and PvE skills being balanced together, etc
I feel XIV is coming to embrace these features, and find it a pretty bad move. I'm also saddened by the gameplay refocus, the loss of the slow and deliberate combat in place of what they're giving us (Well, from what I've seen of it anyway)
I am indeed a very generous person.
"opinion" is thrown around too much to justify nonsense. Whether a game is a clone or another or not is not a matter of opinion, is a simple matter of comparing them objectively. And it's objective to say that FFXIV: ARR is quote obviously not a clone or WoW, or of any other MMORPG.Quote:
Here I thought you posted so much because you get off on speaking condescendingly to anyone whose opinions don't resemble your own.
If you go around saying that the sky is green with yellow polka dots and you try to hide behind the fact that it's your "opinion", being spoken to "condescendingly" is really the least you can expect :D
This thread is dildos.
