Yeah don't get me wrong I would put harsher rules than anything in this thread but I'm trying to appeal to at least a few more people here. XD

YAAAAYYYYYYYYY
Brain Burst style server. I like it. One can dream.
I guess for one thing, if SE was to implement this it would mean taking away from working on other enhancements. To say that this idea would benefit a few people is an understatement. Plus, those the majority of those interested in this concept would try it a few times and realize its futility and give up on it. You'd be left with a true handful of people interested in this idea for the long haul. Its somewhat selfish of those people to think their extreme minority interest in this concept outweighs the greater good. After all its not just your money paying for this game. Its mine too and I wouldn't want it wasted on such a lame idea. I think that's where the negativity is coming from - let's get SE focused on more beneficial concepts.
Oh gawd, what idiot necro-bumped this?
When you die ingame, the game uninstalls itself and then deletes system32 + sends a signal to fry everything in your PC/laptop.
Congratulations in order for Matsume on keeping a troll topic alive long enough to move out of the house, go to college, meet some tarted up hussy troll girl, and raise a new family of trolls to nurture in this brave new frontier.
I don't think anyone could do it better if they tried.
All the people against this sound like the same people who are against hardcore mode in D2 (which was all I ever played once I actually started in it).
Would it be significantly more rough in a game like XIV? Sure... but hey, that's where the fun comes in for some people.
I'm not reading all of these pages, instead one thought came to me, probably because I read that 'rocks fall, everyone dies' thing from another thread.
Sure, have them make a permanent death server, then everyon gets into it that wants to do that. And within a week, on a specific day and time, an unknown GM pops into the game world and moves zone to zone, killing everyone he sees. With the following message afterwards "Not such a great idea, was it? Would you like to try a different server?"
I wouldn't like to and I honestly don't see SE doing it. Can't imagine the economy on such a server, thus making gearing up more time-consuming. Permanent-death would work if we could somehow have offsprings. But that's an uncharted area that I have no will to explore, to be honest.
It's wasted resources. I seriously doubt Square Enix should focus on making a separate ruleset that almost no one would use.
