Yoshi-P, you rock my world... lol
I LIVE for the Summoner job in any FF game I play and when it was first announced I was jumping out of my skin, then I heard that the Primals would only be a group thing and I was crushed. Now after watching this video and hearing you confirm that although we would not actually get Ifrit, Garuda, and the rest, we would be getting lesser versions of them imbued with their powers, you have totally restored my faith and I am excited once again for my favorite job!
I only have one concern, we have fought with Ifrit and Garuda and we have seen concept art for Titan and Ramuh and we have even seen what can only be Leviathan in the Limsa opening... that only leaves the Ice Queen herself and my all time favorite summon, I am speaking of none other than SHIVA! I can only hope that you are saving her for last because she is Awesome! lol The day that I get to have my "Lesser Shiva" slaughtering beast on the battlefield with me will truly be a day to remember for me, with the awesome graphics ARR will have, I cannot wait!
Also... Amazing job on the Summoner AF, it looks awesome! I just hope Summoner turns out to be the force to be reckoned with that it is supposed to be and not a support/gimp WHM like it was in FFIX... and no prep cost please! >.>
What would be a pretty fun mechanic for SMN would not actually be "Summoning" lesser primals, but being possessed by them and turning into the lesser primal while absorbing mp and using crystals depending on the summon you assimilate with.
pretty funny everyone think smn will be a dd class, while it is a dot/debuffer...
woohoo regional servers :)
Hope were not separated (shouldn't be) freaking SEGA made that mistake with PSO2.
what Sega said was "gtfo foreigners" because of script kiddies hacking the servers instead of playing the damn game. They gave us a chance, but some people just have to ruin it for others.
here, it's a different situation. Most likely, the community will separate itself to a certain degree when people will be torn between going with their friends from different regions.
Good evening!
Some of you may have noticed that in the recent videos and screen shots we released, weapons that have different graphics depending on if you're in active/passive mode were only shown in their active mode state. Not to fear! These weapons are still in-development and will convert back to their passive mode graphic when put away, just like in the current version.
Sorry, I couldn't sleep well tonight if I didn't let you know. Now, back to more important conversations!
Like knee-high...
Well that's lame. Stardust and Artemis bow looked better being always active.
It seems like we might pull our weapon out for casting now and put it away after, so if the active effect happened during casting as well that would be awesome. Glowing all the time/never glowing cause you're never in active mode would ruin the impact of the former and be lame in the latter.
I personally love the way Artemis bow folds from bow/harp too.
Yeah, but in SEGA's case they're pretty much forced to separate the servers because the Japanese servers are basically at full capacity since launch. It's almost as if they did not expect PSO2 to be so popular. They made a fine game this time 'round and I hope they'll add to their budget to make it the best it can possibly be.
Don't want it to steal FFXIV players, but SE could take some cues from PSO2 ;)
Considering how long every online entry has lasted ever since the original PSO, I'd much rather they didn't. Not to mention the rampant botting, hacking, and overall neglect their western servers always have. Soukyuu summed up the current situation with PSO2 quite nicely. Just wish they'd put more effort into actually preventing these things from happening instead of just going "lol gaijins" and throwing out mass bans. Doesn't fill me with much hope for our own servers, which is a shame since the game is so fun.
Sega is the absolute last company they need to take notes on for this game. I'd like for FFXIV to last longer than 2-4 years after ARR launches.
Can we get a toggle? Blm relic looks so much more boss when it's lit up!
Thank goodness.
The way 'special' weapons behave is one of the few things I can confidently say I feel the team have done absolutely right up until now and I've no qualms about whatsoever. Their effects are cool and un-intrusive, and manifest when they'd be the most meaningful while staying quiet otherwise to make their activation all the better. Perfect compromise. It would have been horrid if we lost that as well.. Here's hoping it stays so.
... Also yeah, Sega better ruddy well have learned from the way they screwed up PSU what with PSO2 looming and all. >.>
I read about it at bumped.org, from what I remember it was a series of hacking incidents with NPC locations being modified, as well as random player position (leave your character idling, come back to see it drifting in space), all originating from a few non-jp accounts. They got banned but came back since it's f2p and all... so instead of fixing the exploits they just added a clause to their ToS that you can only play if you're a Japanese resident. Which basically means you can still play, but can be banned just because you don't have a JP IP if they feel like it.
So far SE has been handling bugs and exploits more gracefully, so I hope they will NOT take example from Seag'a behavior
Sorry for the delay, but we wanted to share some of the key PowerPoint slides that were presented in the video (since it's kinda hard to subtitle those while the presenters were talking!).
Attachment 476Attachment 484Attachment 485Attachment 486
Attachment 490Attachment 487Attachment 488Attachment 489
Maybe some of these will inspire questions for the LIVE letter?
Wait, merchants and player housing on the same slide?! Don't tease us like that! D:
What does 'area-management by instances' mean?
Ugh, they're not still considering that stupid-looking Ahriman mount, are they? More mounts is one (grudgingly permissible) thing, but when you get into stuff that just looks daft.. not that the goobue wasn't already pretty stupid. At least someone riding an Ahriman won't smother my entire screen and leave me unable to see where the hell I'm going as my party tries to infiltrate an imperial stronghold.
Still, some of that stuff does look interesting. 'Wonder what it's going on about with running one's own store. Not to mention hurrah Carbuncle o.o
But ... but ... the drake mount... [saddest lalafell ever]
That looks awesome!
What does greater freedom to transfer worlds? Does that mean we can move servers whenever we want?
Need some dragon and phoenix mounts.
I'd rather not have flying mounts honestly, they just look dumb and also force the maps to be taller then they need to... How are you gonna fly a phoenix through the Black Shroud?
My own store! o_O)/
Like this but with FFXIV's pretty graphics.
