Did some ppl just generalize all chinese as RMT?
http://assets.diylol.com/hfs/f1d/2f9...-it-2f0be0.jpg
I think the largest issue for companies is that China has special rules they need to put into place litteraly making it a different game from what most players get.
It's not like they just pop up a "China server" they have to actually rework alot of the game. No mentions of Nukes, No skeletons (dunno why) Restrictions on playtime, and needs to be able to get through the great firewall. SE will pretty much give the chinese company a copy of FFXIV and let them have at it until it's ready for government aproval. SE will have very little input for the game from that point on. Expansions and whatnot will also go through a "Filter" when released.
It's more trouble than it's worth for some companies.
given that they are "partnering" with another company, I bet that, that other company will host the servers for china meaning we won't see a china take over our servers. that's just my guess.
I could be totally wrong, but I thought it had more to do with the Chinese government keeping tight reins on what its citizens do on the internet more than it had anything to do with RMT activity. Given the Chinese track record with copyright infringment and what not, it doesnt seem like they would really give a shit about people selling gil. Like I said though, there are plenty of angles to this I may not be seeing. I always pegged this sort of thing as more of a Big Brother issue than a financial one, but what your talking about could be one in the same.
That's my guess. The China Company is going to be doing the rework on whatever localization they need to go through to pass China regulations and then they'll be the the go-to company for all such things for FFXIV updates from then on.
Most defiantly worth the cost this time around as an untapped audience is an undamaged audience in this case. And given general Chinese subscription numbers for MMOs, it's a fair bet such a move just insured the well being of FFXIV into the future.
They'll probably just get the Chinese company that made most of FF14 to do the localization in China. They will feel right at home with the bird-chickens? and the like.
Faux Pas?
You guys forget to mention that it's China... The place where mass produced carbon copies of popular things, emulators and google bans exist.
Why...whatever do you mean?

POPSTATION.
It's...so short...
Going to need good pants for this.
Fire them.Quote:

Fire them now.
I am fully convinced these employees will only bring this game into total ruin. You fire these tontos right now.
You want this?
That's unfortunate :3
Oh! Now you're just being an awful tease >:(
Where's the unlike button lol. Wish we could have those but I don't dislike the current ones.
I do however miss the initial swimsuits from ffxi. They felt more exotic to me and I actually found them sexier. Then again, I always found clothes that show just enough skin to be more sexy. Without exposing everything.
Quiet, you!

I'm starting to be thankful for my being vertically challenged. Don't ruin it for me, man! D:
But honestly? Why short? It just doesn't look good as it is this way. imo.
Maybe next time get some of the community opinions about this sort of thing rather then just letting the devs decide on their own. Maybe a community poll or something about designs and color. It seems we are left in the dark on a lot of the content that is being added until its already upon us.Quote:

edit: Bah I'm just still sour over the no swimsuit deal. I really want one T-T
No. These skirts are way too short to be appropriate for the type of clothing they represent. It looks stupid. Especially for guys.
And why do they have to be so short in the first place? If it's for sex appeal, I dread to think about what's in store for us in the future. Should we really sacrifice simple good traditional aesthetic for some cheap fetish gear?
Yeah, I'm overreacting, but screw it I'm bored.
Yeah ... Great. Don't they know everything in China explodes and is second hand quality? Not to mention they're allowing the worlds largest RMT'ers in on the game. IMO the game is getting better, but i don't see it doing well with the chinese involved.
I'm not a fan of the yukata's length but i can overlook that. Gotta get all the event items regardless.
Not really; I was agreeing that they're not sexy. They're clearly attempting to be, maybe it's just me but as I said simply making something crotch length doesn't make it 'sexy'. It just looks silly. Also, I am aware short Yukata are fashionable, but not really this short (every time you step forward you flash your panties kind of short. You can see this on the Miqo'te example). And of course if I don't like them I won't get them, no worries there. I think I'm just a bit disappointed since a factor in what made FFXI appeal to me is that female gear wasn't super skimpy; yes, generally, it showed a bit more skin than the male versions, but on the whole I found the outfits appealing and fairly sensible.
I can however appreciate FFXIV is not FFXI and they seem to want to take it down the 'sexier' gear route, along with the suggestive posing and comments and the such. Quite simply, it's just not for me, and I guess that's that!
You realize that the yukatas in XI were short too . . . .Quote:

It's seasonal gear which people will wear for 2-3 weeks at the most and then completely forget about until next year just like all seasonal gear.
Wow, so mostly everything you have in your home must be exploding right this instant. How do you stay safe?
I like how quick some are to criticize China's closed society when there's this type of ignorance about them.
They did come with pants if I remember right. (I hope I do lol)
Actually they should have just added pants. Let people choose if they want to run around with or without them. Actually...can we wear pants with them? It's not like we have confirmation or denial for it. Perhaps we are all complaining about something silly and we can simply wear some pants with it. But that is to wait and see.
There wasn't any pant.

At least you're honest.
Honestly, I don't really care for how the Yukata look. They've been doing a decent enough job with gear that matters. And stuff like this will hardly ever see the light of day. It's like seeing people wear those reindeer suits. Nobody actually wears those anymore, right?
....right?
Wait, what are we complaining about today?
I like the yukatas.
I'm ok with them as well, but do a quick image search for yukata, and the real ones are all long...
You can find images of the short versions, but they are all on models and apparently seldom worn in public.
It could be that Eorzea just has a shortage of weaving materials to make the long ones..:p
I am not complaining, these are better than skimpy swim suites in my opinion and I am happy just to get an event! I am sure next year we will have more fun things to look forward too. Think positive! :D
These Kimono are better than the Sunbreeze Festival ones from FFXI as well. Those were just shirts~!

I am happy to have a little more coverage lol.
i think they might make it longer. because those look more like Happi
edit: actually the short Yukata is sexy just like Happi

Some people would give all they have just to feed them family a meal per day, some people whine because the gift they receive isn't exactly what they wished for.
