Moon Miqo'te Face 4 feedback

@Cheapshot, Thank you, this pretty much sums up my feelings on the face. I couldn't put my finger on the eye shape and general small things that you covered in there. This also ties in to my bug report on the edges of the lips (see: https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...69#post6510769 )

Hopefully the JP community also pointed these things out, and we see fixes for these getting rolled out sooner rather than later.

Did you know if someone has already pointed out the fact that Miqo'te F eyes (especially moon Miqo'te) don't look in the same direction? I'm not sure if it's a 7.0 thing or if it's because of the new reflections/eye models... I can post some pictures but it's more noticeable in game. I really hope for a fix, as it's difficult to unsee it after you notice.

Do you mean because the catch-lights are in different positions on each eyeball? Or are you talking about the actual pupils? I'm not a fan of the new catchlights vs the old ones, especially since whatever problem is making the eyes grey is dimming them too.

This makes my character look like a grandma or an automaton. I haven't seen anyone post anything about this, so I figured I'd share it here in hopes that the smoothing groups around the lips get fixed.

The grandma mouth thing is what I came here to give feedback for. It looks super weird and ruins the whole face for my girl.

So thankful for the lip gap and teeth being reverted though! I'm hoping that they add several more customization options to all races instead of a new race next time.

It's hard to say but i'm thinking Miqo'te really have strabismus but a small one, and the catch-lights make it more noticable.

And sorry for my english, i'm french ^^' I allready tryed to report this on french forum but they told me "working as intended" ^^' Maybe it's just me but i don't have this feeling on my Viera

I put off the MSQ since the game came out for early access. I logged in and was abit disappointed.
I only saw her in cutscenes for the viper unlocks and something just looks/feels uncanny. I know she looks similar but something feels off? I tried to love her I really did. I have no other options to fantasia to, my favorite Femra Face 2 face got a huge nerf, fem Viera has this ugly dirty texture on her face (that's not the nose)....

Is this really the expansion people were hyping up for? I wanted to love the graphical update but I really don't.

They needed more time for this update. Alot of facial expressions have twitchy eyebrow syndrome and I don't know if this is a bug or a feature but this kinda ruins abit of gpose for me...
I hate the lipgloss that's on the no make up option, it wasn't there before also her eyes look really hollow in dark lit areas due to no catchlight...

I wonder if these are growing pains...I honestly enjoyed the older graphics, I don't see why the change to our characters was necessary.

Edit: Someone please test the following expressions for me...For me the eyebrows twitch aggressively akin to a muscle spasm. Eyebrows don't move like that...I don't know how to make a gif and I can't upload a vid cause my upload speed sucks...

It was part of my character. I found it charming and unique compared to all the other miqo faces. Why shouldn’t I like the lip gap? There are gorgeous people irl who have them?

x2 on this. They could have easily just added another set of lips without the gap as an option - we have a perfectly good character creator for these things.

Unrelated to the lips, the eyes are starting to get to me more and more. Due to the change of the shape of the eyes, the iris just look bigger than before. Under most light conditions my character looks kinda like an alien now (on top of the grandma mouth)? It's pretty uncanny.

I just wanted to update this thread with something I put together to better express my deires for my character. It’s one thing to point out in detail everything that’s changed, which I’ve absolutely done. But in the absence of clear guidance on what I would like to see done about it, it’s probably not as useful. I also think it’s important to convey my sincere hopes for what changes I’d like to see.

Bumping this thread. I also realize I never posted my "updated" lip shadow and iris complaint image here, so here goes:

1.) The large irises now appear to be bigger than before, making the eyes look "bug eyed" in some light and shadow scenarios
2.) The lips have weird indent shadows in the corners, making my character look old/puffed up under nearly all light conditions

Tossing my feedback here too.
Face 4 Keeper of the Moon eyebrows are too dark and don't match Face 4 Seeker of the Sun's eyebrows.
In Endwalker, Keeper of the Moon face 4 eyebrows were visible when light hair colors were selected and dark skintones were selected. But in Dawntrail, Keeper of the Moon face 4 eyebrows are very grey and are too dark too see against dark skintones with light hair. However, in Dawntrail Seeker of the Sun face 4, which is nearly identical to Keeper of the Moon Face 4, does not have this problem and look the way both clans looked in Endwalker. They are clearly visible with light haircolors against dark skin.

Keeper's eyebrows REALLY need to be corrected to match those of Seekers. It looks super strange and is very unpleasant as it is right now.

Brows on Face 4 for both Keepers and Seekers have lost depth and volume to their eyebrows that seems. It looks like there used to be built in shadows and highlights that are now absent. This contributes to the dullness on the middle range of selectable skintones:

The benchmark lighting isn't super reflective of how the brows actually looked in gameplay however.
Here's a small collection of examples from Endwalker in a variety of lightings, most with no Gpose Color Filter and a few with (usually Bright 1 or Bright 4). I'm on PS5 so no additional overlays were present.
In no situation was it ever difficult to tell the eyebrows were white and in no situation were they ever hard to see.
