Umm no. This is because some dude got harassed by 1/2 of these ppl getting on my case because they assumed he was a troll. Making any excuse they could to justify their actions.

Yes and the reason YOU are getting defensive about it is because you were traumatized on a unrelated game and somehow feel connected to this guy. Its also human nature, when someone has a bad experience and they see someone else going through a similar experience they feel obligated to step in. In this case his starting post warranted the responses, his apology isn't going to change much because he came off judgemental and aggressive and was met with the people who got super defensive about their game.

The only thing that traumatized me in my life was 3 happeninfs when I was 3 years old. And to be pretty honest. I see no difference between Aion forums and this forum. Pretty much same crap different game. And its not really the game I'm talking about its the players playing the game. Which is relevent as an example. I simple do not want ffxiv to turn inti the community present on Aion. It can and will turn into that if left unchecked.

No, I'm sorry but it won't even with you picketting the forums it still won't become like those games.

The same stuff you see here has been on all the other FFXI forums for 7+ years, just never had an official forums where its more noticed. The forums does not reflect the in-game community so your example of 4-5 people on a unrelated game trolling you on forums and in game does not apply here cause the chances of all (if even any) of them being on same server as you when you do start playing is slim.

Even still, most FF players drop all forum beef when they click "Play" unless you piss them off alot then they'll avoid you, the less mature would hunt you down but those people are few and probly won't even be around when you start.

People attack anything that don't agree with the popular vote. Or goes against conformity. Pretty mucg trolling is more tolerated similar to bullying IRL. The reason for this is it was an unwriten agreement that it happens. Or it built character. It went unchecked and several happenings over the years happened. Like the several school shootings and teen suicides.

What I'm doing isn't the way of the conformist. I'm standing up for what I believe in. No one likes it so they are going out of their way to make me look bad. All i did was stand up for a guy and did my best to help him out. And made a post questioning why the community needs to be like that to new ppl.

Also beinging up examples of what I'm talkng about is infact realited to the post. Aion is just being used as an example. Yes the game isn't ffxiv, but our community is identical to theirs. And it can easily leak inti ffxiv. Thays pretty much what happened with Aion.
And again that is not something I want/ enjoy seeing.

I give up, talking to you is just as pointless as you trying to make people change their ways. Neither side is gonna giive way so its just a constant struggle that will just end exactly where its started, enjoy your campaign for peace and love, I'm done.

I get what your saying atm the forums do not reflect ingame. It may not stay that way for long. Aions comminuty ingame is just as bad if not worst then their forums. I loged on the game first before logging in the forums dueto the fact no one under level 10 can type in tells. (rmt mesure)
I get on the forums to ask questions and maybe look for a legion that is willing to help me out. I get treated like crap. I was like meh at first. I level up get to the main city for my "race" and I do a shout asking for help. Pretty much I got the same replies from the same ppl. And even more ppl. Saying the same crap/ harrasing statments all over again. The game only had 5 servers. I tried all 5 out on both races and No one was willing to help me out. I played Alone for 6mnths then quit feeling this game wasn't even worth the crap I had to put up with.

So really ingame community can easily reflect that on the forums. I seen it on a few mmo.

Actually the original forum troll was a rude person. And no I'm not the one to blame for my WoW or Aion issues. I was nice as pie to ppl. I did nothing to them. And kd it wasn't 4-5 ppl. it was more 30-40 ppl. 50+ in game. And I wish those were fake numbers.... /sigh.

I'm not gonna defend the wow community, because yes we do have assholes in the game and in the forums, but what do you expect ? wow has 12million players, obviously your chances to meet trolls, rude people and w/e are way higher than in FFXI for example, also if you asked in trade channel then your bad, that is not the channel to introduce yourself or ask for a guild, i myself play the game with trade channel off, because they just talk to much BS in it, but if i just wanna sit somewhere and chat or read stuff just for giggles, i turn it on, read people arguing back and forth and laugh, seriously, is a game, not a job or your real life, it does not has to be SO SERIOUS at all times :)

Anyways, the internet is full of trolls and rude people, every community has them, this one has them too, and it will only get worse if the game eventually becomes anything resembling a good game :)

Ostia. Nope I sent tells. to ppl in those games or shouted. Trade channel on WoW was kinda funny at times. And moon guard has fre pron XD just log in and read the shouts.

Trust me I been on 30 mmo (including Aion WoW ffxi) and trade(troll) channel is always the same. I always avoid them. I turn them off and just walk around asking ppl in tells or say or do a shout. Most of my replies from Aion are infact in the look for guild tab. Not the troll channel.

I reread the post and he infact is not saying anything bad about the game, never said WoW was better. Never said the game sucked. Yet ppl are acting like he did. Which drew out my concern that the community is turning into shit.

Peoples hate for WoW runs so deep they just went out of their way to harrasse someone. Don't that concern you a lil?

The poster I made mention only played WoE for 4 years and we don't know when He also don't speak english nornally, and did a constructive post with example of what is dissapointing base on his experance. And that infact he asked nicely for no one to take offence. And on to occasions after said he was sorry. I'm sorry but that don't scream troll to me.

So he was infact unfairly treated by hyocrites. Who are now after me for pointing out their unjustly paranoia clouding their judgement.

Oh and Most of my 700+ replies are postly commenting on stuff to improve the game or stuff I personally suggested and commented on.

This is the smartest comment on this thread, and possibly the whole general discussion forum section.

I actively use the block list to block people whose opinions hold no value to me, so about 20% of the posts on here are blocked. The players whose opinions do hold merit are likely to stop using the forums because any constructive conversation is drowned out by all the nonsense.

The best way to enjoy the FFXIV community is to communicate with people ingame and get to know the people you game with instead of random people from other servers, who may as well be playing another game, since you're never likely to ever play with them. Going try ff14 out again today been taking a break and not sure if many online but will try out a few hours , just got dissidia today is cool but my imported lv75 squall just got his handed to me by the npc in 1v 1 battle , its a bit more longer the fights in new one but bit of practice ill get hang of it.

That's because they were all NPCs. The series certainly has gone downhill since the first FF.

Also for a "troll" least I don't bring my hate for a game to be an excuse to insult someone. Least I try to be constructive. Least I don't jump on a band wagon for every stupid thing.
