Is that A Midsummer Night's Dream?

The one thing that gave me a small bit of hope isthe fact they added splendorous tools step at 5.1. That might - emphasis on the conditional - tell us they at least realised you could not have zero long term content for 2 months (despite being given "for free" and far faster than the previous ones, weapons relics still are some kind of long term content).
Even if they realised that, I don't think they will ever acknowledge that until it's far behind them, for PR reasons. That would send such a bad sign to shareholders, and they don't need a "we also fucked the game that has been our one evergrowing and mostly positive thing over the last 10 years" while so many of their recent years project bombed. If they tackle that in DT, they will be able to say "yeah, we realised we had problem and fixed it", which is turning this fiasco into a positive thing.

Whoa... is that... buttcapes and circlets..? Casters in ROBES??? Holy moly... the devs really went all out on these new raids sets... Never seen anything like this before.
Finally. Only took them what? 2 years before they stoppped releasing tome/crafted/raid/dungeon sets where viera can wear less than half of the headgear.
Glad to see that SE apparently is very fast to incorporate feedback into their game.
God these gearsets are so boring and uninspired looking. I'm so glad to see other people moaning tbh!
Kokytos is Minfilia Oracle, too, and whatever she was based on. Most floating bosses have feet even but Minfilia's Oracle model has the feet at different levels and so does Kokytos. Saw it in a 9s run one night and now I can't help meme in my head about Minfilia stepping on us all.
I will say, not to stir the pot, the casheal sets are far better than Euphros. Healers even get a nice crown so as a healer main I will def be aiming for that drop first thing patch day.
However I do not like most of these sets, I feel like all the armor is repurposed Radiant old tomestone gear. It may just be the weird scale-like mesh but it feels kinda lazy.
On the other hand I love the pvp sets I just wish theyd finally made headgear fit h/v bc the pink sets hat+hood combo is immaculate, really hitting the buttons for me.
I suppose wed better all pray the Dungeon set is good bc I hate the past two patches being old undyable sets.
If they had to reuse sets the only thing Id settle for is genderswaped Neoishgard sets. The femme variant of the tank and healer neoish sets are my most wanted glam pieces I just love the look the male versions are so bland fpr me but god knows a few lady players would love the male sets vests/capes.
I'm glad there's some stuff there that you like!
This is why I cry so much about glam restrictions being removed because I feel so petulant turning my nose up at everything but there's already so much stuff that would keep people happy with the already existing gearsets ;_;
Imo this statement sort of encapsulates the entire problem witn XIV right now. Every moment we have spent outside 6.0 isn't bad, but it does feel somewhere between over extended and uninspired. It's hard to determine if what has happened is a mix of XVI distracting the team. SE reducing budgets, or the new content is just truly weak. Maybe it's all of the above.
But I'm just saying.. it feels like shortcuts are being taken and the team is just throwing out anything that's easy to do that will appease player demands right now. They needed a set for the new raid so they just used a former idea for Aglaia. Anticipation for 7.0 will reach all time highs from the exhaustion of people being underwhelmed.
But that's a dangerous strategy, because it means DawnTrail needs to blow people's socks off.

Here's your new raid gear bro
I'm not on board with removing restrictions from everything but they could certainly do it for all of the crafting/gathering sets. The devs spend so much time and effort making all those great looking unique sets that nobody ever uses because all crafters share the same gear and nobody is going to eat up all their glam plates for crafter looks.
I am so tired of Maiming just being a dupe of Fending. I thought that would change when Reaper was added to the gear but nope. I would love more light and flowy sets for DRG.
If I had known that this game was going to put out stuff like what I can only assume are fortnite pvp sets as gear I don't think I would have picked it up. As far as I'm concerned nothing good came of me being tolerant of the people who were into this stuff because from my perspective they took the game I liked and warped it into something I can't recognize as FF. I should have definitely gatekept my interests harder, maybe then FFXIV would still be the game that I enjoyed.
This is 100% accurate and what I personally find extra annoying about this pattern is that at the very least there are some aesthetic differences between fending and maiming, and striking, scouting and aiming....but casting and healing? literally copy-paste and call it a day, not even "add more frills on the healer" or "give the BLM a bigger hat" - that's how little they matter.
8.0 will have another new melee or tank because god forbid they ever make meteor a healer for an expac.
I was hoping the 7.0 stuff would show whm meteor. Like I really expected them to give meteor a HEALING easy break after saving the whole breadth of existence in endwalker but no...melee-teor again.
At the very least at least let him be a caster or a phys ranged
I know somewhere along the way they said that “casters weren’t dynamic enough” but it would be really nice to have us ranged mains represented with meteor as well rather than just 3 tanks out of 4 and 3 melee out of 5 (1.0 ARC doesn’t count)
Healers can't be the main character, sorry. Heroes don't hide on the back row.
